You and I are the only ones who watched

Lugar and Nunn have been working on the "nuclear" issue a long time and there are few who can talk about it more authoritatively. The program was pretty alarming, all in all with problems coming not just from terrorists, but from deteriorating facilities in Russia. Not sure we can ever get an accurate inventory of nuclear arsenals, but I would think we could do better. As one of the panel pointed out, the US is not the only place some really bad event could take place.

I rejoice as much as anyone with the ending of the cold war and more freedom for the Eastern Europeans but I do have this nagging feeling that we know less about how many and where the nuclear weapons are now than we did before.

I just finished watching MTP in my bedroom as I didn't want to alarm the young nieces and nephews we have staying with us this week.

Lugar and Nunn have beaten this drum for a number of years now and I think they are honest in their assessments and concerns.

I'd like to see more discussions of this kind take place, without the usual blame and finger pointing.
