Take your argument to its logical conclusion. 7 RINO's turned into 7 RATS. That would mean RAT control of the Senate. I rather have partial control

Nate, as I indicated, we have a philosophical difference on this one. As long as one has Rino's, all one will ever have is "partial control" of the Senate- I'd prefer full control.
I wish I could turn the 7 Rino's into Dems- I'd do so in an instant. I'd gladly take the minority position in the Senate to get rid of McCain, Warner, Chafee, Snow, Collins, Dewine and Graham from the GOP-and call them what they are- Democrats.

With the remaining solid 48 GOP members, I'd look to the next election to regain my majority.

It doesn't promote the conservative agenda, to have McCain et al considered Republicans. The MSM feasts on these Rinos, and by comparison, the rest of the GOP is view as "extreme". With the Rinos, you not only lose pragmatic nuts and bolts issues (as we just did); you lose the public relations war; i.e. "even Senator John McCain, a conservative Republican from Arizona, believes that the GOP has been taken over by the extreme right". (That's a hypothetical quote.)

One might have 12 clubs in his bag, and believe that he has a full array of clubs- but if 7 of those clubs are putters, he's playing the game light.

We agree on one thing- both you and I what to "win the war". AS I said, we merely have different visions on how that war should be waged.

must be that Southern tendency to lump all the little Yankee states together):

In Exile,

Now you're onto something. Let's give them everything from New Jersey, Penn. and DC (including the current governing folks) on up; and start all over with the remainder.

Just remember, I've a captive behind enemy lines (Conn.), so don't forget to save my sorry backside. (No bun intended, viz. Conn. having legislatively enacted civil unions).

:o)

The MSM is already a mouthpiece for the enemy. Can you image a general who is more worried about how his actions will influence enemy propaganda than in victory? The good news is the MSM is dying on the vine as they try even more desperately every day to influence events only to have the alternate media expose them every time they try. You don't win by losing. Its like wanting to replace the 7 perverts in your neighbor who merely look at child porn with 7 hard core pedophiles who will rape and kill the local children "because their heinous acts will assure that they will be caught and removed , eventually". Just remember that a murdering treasonous rapist was not only elected but was even reelected to the nations highest office because we got mad at a tax raising RINO. We are still suffering from his corrupt judges as a result, not to mention Chinese nuke improvments!

Nate, very unfortunate and extreme analogy.

But, forced to work from that analogy, in the case of the Rinos in political terms, by their recent actions they went from the former to the latter.

In essence, there's no difference between the 2 in this case. As we see, it's just a matter of time and circumstance from which the former takes on the aspects of the latter.

In the GOP neighborhood, there is no room for pedophiles, nor for those who show a proclivity to potential pedophilia.

The answer is to get them all out of the neighborhood now.

I imagine were that ever to happen, though, California and the rest of the left coast would insist on remaining part of the NY-LA axis. It sure is nice to imagine that "flyover country" really could become one, though.

I promise we'd get you out, too, even if we had to go through New York City to do it. And I tell you, that's a sacrifice. If I owned Liberty City and New York City, I'd rent out New York and live in Liberty City.

So the question is, when you movin' to NH?

>> Y'all probably ought to save your money on Chafee and spend it on DeWine's opponent instead. The GOP probably can't do better than a RINO in Connecticut. We can certainly do better than DeWine in Ohio. <<

You're just looking at the state's typical voting patterns and NOT the individual Senator's popularity. Chafee is far more vunerable than Dewine will ever be.

First off, Chafee is the Senator from Rhode Island, not Conn. (for those who insist conservatives are "unelectable" in R.I., you might want to explain this to the proudly conservative, pro-life and pro-gun Govenror they have) Chafee has extremely high negatives and is loathed by both parties for his mediocre record in the Senate. He is considered highly vunerable, both in the primary and the general, because the ONLY reason he won in the first place was daddy's last name. That's not wishful thinking on my part, that's everyone's opinion from the DSCC to the Chicago Sun Times. What's more, Chafee has a very high profile opposition within the party just itching to make it a primary fight. That would be Cranston Mayor Stephen Laffey, a conservative who has been repeatedly elected in a very liberal city, Rhode Island's third largset city and more than half the Providence metropolian area. He governs conservatively but talks moderately. If ANYONE can take down Chaffee in the primary AND win a general election, this guy can. It should also be noted the R.I. GOP has kept their distance from Chafee even since the smug little twirp came out AGAINST Bush's re-election, the ONLY Republican Senator to do so.

DeWine, on the other hand, has absolutely no viable primary opposition at this point (wish he had) and the chances of finding anyone with name recongition to take him on is slim to none (wish it wasn't). DeWine is a big-shot with a lot of seniority that has the GOP, Inc. establishment in Ohio eating out of his right hand. Added to this fact is that Mr. Centrist appeals to a lot of "Moderate" OH Democrats since they can never get their boys elected to statewide office there. The only shot we have of taking him out is a massive conserative reformer sweep lead by Ken Blackwell that's SO strong it causes every country-club incumbent down the ticket to lose the primary, including a "safe" incumbent like DeWine.

Everyone is saying the one Republican with a chance to become this year's Pat Toomey is Stephen Laffey. Please bear in mind the last incumbent RINO to be defeated in a Senate primary was in New York State, not one of those solidly Republican states. RINOs in solidly Republcian states like Arizona have proven extremely difficult to take out.

Look at the individual Senator's, not their states. If we can take out anyone, it's Chaffee

HiYose-

Very kind of you to give your input on my computer woes. I received a a lot of input from other gracious Freepers

I'm doing my research this weekend, and with Frist-like confidence, I hope to pull the trigger this weekend, hoping there might be some kind of Memorial Day sale.

Thanks much. :)

Hi Exile, California goes to Mexico, in exchange for the promise of no illegal immigration into True America.

“Flyover country” would be in fact a “no-fly” zone. Anything flying out of LA or NY, for instance, would be immediately intercepted and escorted back to their point of departure.

Our government would be set up some where in the mid-west on a 300 acre plot surrounded by a 2 mile wide moot and guarded by our military. Our President and Legislators would live therein, 4 acres assigned to each State to provide whatever living accommodations they wish for their representatives.

Representatives who attempt to "cash in" for their personal aggrandizement at the expense of the public trust, will be tried for treason before Justice Janice Brown, and if found guilty, will be sentenced to life in a prison cell equipped with an endless loop of Barabara Boxer speeches. Subsequent appeals for a death sentence, shall be summarily denied.

As in Lord of the Rings, the bridge entering the complex would be adorned on each side with mammoth sculptures of Ronald Reagan; one smiling with a torch upheld; the other deadly serious, with rifle cited and cocked.

Access to the complex, would only be available to citizens- lobbyists and special interest group representatives attempting to enter would be shot on sight, without warning.

Media coverage would be limited to C-SPAN, provided that such coverage be expanded so that each and every governmental meeting be recorded and available to citizen review. Each State would also have a CSPAN affiliate, with designated times, where State delegations would be available to their constituencies via telephone to answer questions on policy.

If Helen Thomas or Dowd approached the complex, they would be immediately captured by military personnel and thrown into the moot. (Certainly, they will be given advance warning concerning the ‘gators).

I could go on and on- but enough for now.

Don’t worry Reb in exile, America will rise again.

:o)

Can I add a few?

1) Illegals would be shot on detection, and any citizen who knowingly harbored, funded, or otherwise abetted an illegal would be subject to the same punishment--or banishment, depending on the degree of the aid.

2) However, anyone who accidentally or intentionally shot a citizen as an overzealous prosecutor of illegals would be subject to immediate banishment or death themselves.

3) It's moat, not moot. : )
