An Islamic website statement claimed today that Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaida in Iraq chief, has fled to an unidentified neighbouring country with two Arab doctors treating him for gunshot wounds to his lung.
There was no way to verify the authenticity of the claim. The site used to carry al-Qaida postings, but has fallen out of use recently. Soon, the posting appeared on another militant site, where it quickly came under attack from other posters as untrue and unauthorised by al-Qaida.
The statement from somebody identified only as al-Khalidi the same name as a regular poster for the site in the past said the information was based on accounts of brothers close to the holy warriors in Iraq and who are in contact with them. He did not elaborate.
Mideast security officials told The Associated Press in the Jordanian capital Amman they could not verify the authenticity of the posting or veracity of its contents.
On Tuesday, a web statement in the name of al-Zarqawis group, al-Qaida in Iraq, said the terrorist mastermind has been wounded. But US officials cautioned they did not know if the posting was authentic, and privately said the information also may have been designed to purposefully mislead.
I bet he scutters off to Syria everytime he sees a contrail.
"We will have victory over the infidel, my fighters. We will grill their bellies.."
"Look in the sky"
"Oh dear, I left the oven on and the couscous will burn. I forgot to unplug the iron. I hear the phone ringing. Walk the dog. UPS delivery. Locusts. Plagues. Hurricanes. Gotta go. Call me."
LOl I have two mosques not far from my house in Queens,NY - gotta check those places. So this guy has a bullet in his lung and he's walking around with two doctors in tow. Is his his last name Rasputin?
LOL!
This stinks of disinformation.
Exactly
Allah the Great and Merciful; destroy mine enemys beneath my feet as I run away from them...
It's bogus.
Harboring Zarqawi would be an act of war, maybe as another poster said, we are getting close, or maybe he is in fact dead.
Maybe this is the reason that the Syrian's announced their plans the other day that they were breaking ties with anti-terroist efforts.
'Ramadan, also known as Agha Abu Saad' is also known as Rahman 'the noodle of death' has been killed by anti fast food fighters in northern Iraq.
He's probably in Syria right now. But how long he's in that country remains to be seen. I doubt he would flee to Iran, given that the Shi'a Muslims would kill him in no time flat (Zarqawi is a Sunni Muslim and Shi'a and Sunni Muslims don't like each other).
Syria would take him. I would bet he's probably right in Syria.
To me that sounds like we got him or he's dead. As soon as it is reported these sub-humans will deny it and say he is being treated. This of course is my opinion. But who am I? Just a St. John's University graduate
Yes I am. :)
Web Posting Claims al-Zarqawi Fled Iraq ping.
I wish. I don't believe anything those people say.
I just wish we could hurry up and find him dead.
