A rise in diseases such as whooping cough, tuberculosis, malaria, measles and even leprosy are creating public health concerns and could hit hospitals and health care systems already financially burdened by indigent illegals flooding emergency rooms and urgent care centers.

First, I couldn't believe I read the title correctly, especially in this PC age. Second, I couldn't believe who reported it. Third, this seems to be reason #3,498 as to why the border should be guarded and all illegal deported. I wonder how many more reasons we need before Bush gets it.
...and the very liberal, but I repeat myself.
"Americans should be told that diseases long eradicated in this country -- tuberculosis, leprosy, polio, for example -- and other extremely contagious diseases have been linked directly to illegals," said Scottsdale Congressman J.D. Hayworth.
"This is one of the cheap thrills of cheap labor," said Childress. "As you may have noticed, many immigrants, legal or otherwise, are employed -- if they are at all -- as cooks, dishwashers, waiters and food handlers. And it's a fact that Hepatitis A, B, and C show up in fast food environments."
It's the Bush Administration and GOP policies to DO NOTHING about illegal immigration. And it is a major reason why the GOP is going to be in big trouble in 06 and even better trouble 08.
You forgot the sarc tag...
Some freepers might think you were series.
When I hear people say that the cost of produce will go up, I could absolutely hit something.
Yes. It will go up.
But we're paying for the illegal influx in other ways. Denial of service at some hospitals that are overwhelmed taking care of illegals. Health care for illegals is a cost being passed on to the taxpayers as of last week. Free tuition in some states is being passed on to taxpayers.
This is an issue that will sink the Republican party unless something is done about it.
And meanwhile, Hillary is carving out space on this issue for her presidential run. Not that most people will believe her, but enough moderates and naive voters will that it could cost us the next presidency.
"Savage was all over this last week. His very first demo talk radio tape years ago covered this topic."
He mentioned a book that he wrote about the danger, back in the 80s. It stemmed from his studies in health and nutrition. But not one publisher in New York would touch it, because they feared the AIDS lobby. That's when things clicked in his mind. Savage then began to realise just what a danger liberalism is.
The poor guy's getting burned out, though, I think. Too bad. Right when he starts making headway, he's burning out, talking on-and-on about airplanes, and promising to talk about even more trivia during the summer. He needs a two week or three week vacation, I think. Get his head on straight.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!

Welcome to the Third World ...America's government has not only gone soft in the outhouse , it has also gone soft in the head . George Washington and the Valley Forge Boys are rolling over in their graves ...

Good point. A lot of FReepers passed in the latest Freep-poll. If Tancredo were in the poll, it would have rocked. I was ticked at Tancredo regarding DeLay. I still wish he would apologise. But hindsight, I think that was just his zealotry showing through. He couldn't pass up a cheap shot. But despite that, he's my guy for now until a stronger borders-conservative puts his hat in the ring.
You should see the crew of Ecuadorians waiting downstairs at my building. Today there are so many the little deli/cafeteria downstairs is serving as in impromtu waitiing room. (Good luck to anyone who wants to sit down and eat. I don't think the Japanese owners are going to put up with that very long.) I'm sorry to say this, but they are a sorry looking bunch of sad sacks. I really don't understand this, but my office building should not be looking like a welfare office every day.
It is not only the illegals, but legal immigrants are not health screened sufficiently either, not to mention all the jet airplanes of visitors from countries that have no vaccinations. We need to close our borders, and if anyone comes into our country who has been in a place where foreign diseases are present, to not let them in unless they can prove they were vaccinated. Easy to do at customs. If you are a foreigner who was in Africa last year, you wont get past customs unless you brought copies of all your past vaccinations.
*sigh* And he needs to have that big head of his lanced to let that massive ego drain out a bit.
Are you any less dead if you die from antibiotic resistant tuberculosis or from an anthrax attack? These folks are walking bio-bombs! And look at all the murders, rapes and child molestations they are committing! And don't forget John Lee Malvo, the Washington sniper! He was in Federal immigration custody and turned lose on our population as part of their catch and release policy.

This country has been sold out by both parties for different reasons. From the Pres. on down very few in our govt. care about this issue. This country is well on it's way to joining the Europeeins in the toilet. Thank our govt. and the many useful idiots who empower them. Gracias !!!!
"Something needs to be done about these foreign trespassers.(thanks washtimes) "
Hold on to your hats folks, the ride is about to get bumpy!
Absolutely NOTHING will be done, repeat, NOTHING. Welcoming illegals with open arms suits both political parties.
The Republicans welcome the cheap labor.
The Democrats welcome the additional voters to their base.
The loser? You and me. Do they care? I would say not a single one of them cares!
