Frist's first interview since the musshy middle announced their deal. As far actual news goes - Rush called Frist's office and at this point all judges will get a vote.
He needs to be voted out with extreme prejudice during the next primary to send the message to RINOs.
Lindsey says, "If I'm wrong, I'll take my lickin'."
He may have no clue of what he's talking about...
After listening to the weasel from SC, I honestly think he's a naive bumpkin who got snookered by McCain and his fellow RATS.
I can't believe anyone is that naive, but senator weasel sounds like it. He actually trusts the RATS, even after Sean played a tape of the RATS in full-attack mode.
This man sounds dangerously naive (or a bad liar).
Pink.
Nominating Gonzalez -- who lowered the standard for a judical bypass for teens seeking abortion in Texas -- would result in the same kind of disaster for the Republican party that Graham is facing now. Gonzalez is nothing more than a Anthony Kennedy, Sandra Day O'Connor clone.
That's strange. What you are saying is that everyone knew about Souter, except for Bush. He was a disaster in the Circuit Court when Bush appointed him there. At best he could have nominated someone else given that Souter was just elevated to the circuit court and if he wasn't sure how he would turn out. Joe Biden said he was the best nominee for the job. That should have been a bad sign right there.
Right, but they just voted for no more than an additional 30 hours of debate on Owens. If they are not going to talk about her qualifications during this extension of debate, why the heck are they adding time for more this "waste of energy"?
Oh, I agree whole heartedly. There are plenty of good and able conservatives in SC who do not kneel at King Johns feet.
Try 1380 AM
First, I don't believe him. Second, why not pull the trigger now rather than wait until we have an impasse? And finally, Graham is not part of the Senate GOP leadership and has no influence on whether the nuclear option will be exercised or not. He will be a black sheep along with the other members of the gang of seven. Graham has turned his back on the party and party discipline.
Like Newsweek's Isikoff, Graham did not dream of the hell fire raining down on him now. He'll just have to live w/it...his legacy has found him.
"I did detect a little fear in his voice."
I did too. In fact, I think he is receiving such a backlash from his conservative consituency he is having a lot of misgivings about his deal with the Devil.
Well said, kabar.
That's a hollow promise/prediction. I would bet any amount that the agreement went something like this:
The 3 get confirmed. We'll help you kill a few others but put the proper lipstick on the pig...you 7 dems agree to allow an up or down vote by ending the filibusters against all 7 nominees, and in the final vote, we'll vote with you against 3 or 4 of the others that you dems don't like.
That way Graham can tell Sean, "See, we got the up or down vote, but gosh darn it all, they didn't have the 50 votes needed to reach the bench.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. But I don't want this fairy in the Senate anymore.
I knew about Clinton, but Lindsey Graham likes women? I'd have never guessed.
There is a reason why Republicans have been winning elections for a decade and conservatives have virtually nothing to show for it -- the Hannity mentality of compromising and support liberal, spineless and Republicans.
