Dean defends imitation of Rush
Washington Times ^ | May 23, 2005 | James G. Lakely

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean yesterday defended his public mocking of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's battle against addiction to painkillers, saying, "It is galling to be lectured to about moral values by folks who have their own problems.

"Hypocrisy is a value that I think has been embraced by the Republican Party," Mr. Dean told NBC's "Meet the Press" yesterday. "We get lectured by people all day long about moral values by people who have their own moral shortcomings."

Mr. Dean last month did an impression of Mr. Limbaugh for a gathering of Democrats in Minnesota that included the sound of someone snorting cocaine. Mr. Limbaugh became addicted to the painkiller OxyContin while dealing with years of chronic back pain, but entered a rehabilitation center last year and says he is now drug-free.

Mr. Dean, a doctor, was unapologetic about his parody, even when "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert asked whether it is "appropriate for a physician to mock somebody who has gone into therapy and the abuse for drug addiction?"

How do you do an imitation of someone who has a wife uglier than Mr. Ed?

"Mr. Dean also said his comments in January that "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for" and that "this is a struggle between good and evil, and we are the good" were taken "a little out of context."

The above is the problem in a nut shell. Dean has it entirely backwards which is the major problem with the Democratic Party. They are totally and completely self-delusional.

Dean's got the wrong idea of hypocrisey. We all sin to one degree or another. But most of the people on the Republican side of the culture war, define it as sin and endeavor to avoid it. Not only don't the Democrats attempt to avoid their sins, but they don't even define them as such. Indeed, they instead often describe bad behavior as "normal" and attempt (many times successfully) to convince people it's righteous.

Okay..... You owe me a new keyboard. I have coffee all over it. My late father would want Mrs. Dean around. He said, "Son, I could place her out in my corn field. She would have crows bringing back corn, they stole, three years ago."

Now, for the clean up process.

When you read some of the flapping ash holes who, because they have to write twice a week, write stupid crap about "The GOP revolution fading", remember the rat chairman is how-weird so we can sleep late every morning.

Dean gets about 7 more months before he is ousted by a Hillary appointee. Hillary herself is on her white horse -soon to ride in and save the party. The stage has officially been set.

The fact that The Dems are not screaming and writhing in pain to get Dean outta there, well, this defines the current Democrat party.

Keep in mind, folks, the dems are paying Dean to say this junk.

Yup.

Notice how the 'Queen-Cheese' is keeping fairly quiet during the judicial-nominee fracas? It's been all Reid, Kennedy, Byrd, Biden, Schumer... all the wing-nuts with a love-affair with the camera.

Hillary doesn't need to go to the camera... the camera comes to her!

She's getting great advice from Rapist42... and taking it... something that I'm sure goes against her totalitarian makeup.

Howard Dean is a Christian as much as Ward Churchill is a Native American.

"We get lectured by people all day long about moral values by people who have their own moral shortcomings."

If you get "lectured" at all, it's by someone with moral shortcomings. We ALL have those. The difference is, conservatives tend to try to overcome them; liberals wallow in them and wear them as badges of honor. Worse yet, if they DO try to overcome them, it's only by empowering the State to steal virtue from someone else.

Dean was a complete embarrassment on that show. He repeated himself often....and made absolutely no sense. He was all over the board. What a joke.

The strategy is to make Dean look so loony that uber liberal Hillary will look centrist in comparasion. That 's the only way to get a communist like Hillary elected and I'm convinced that the media knows this and that Dean may very well know this.

Yes, and it will be our job to expose her positions and make sure that everyone in the country knows that HCs positions make Howard Dean look "almost normal."

"Rush Limbaugh has made a career of belittling other people and making jokes about President Clinton, about Mrs. Clinton and others," Mr. Dean said. "I don't think he's in any position to do that.

One point to dean.

Rush Limgaugh's "hypocrisy" is not a moral hypocrisy, but a constitutional hypocrisy.

Rush Limbaugh has preached for years, and rightly so, that this is country of liberty and of natural rights, protected by a written constitution.

Amendment IX

The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights, shall not be construed to DENY OR DISPARAGE others (rights) retained by the people.

Is not a a right "retained by the people" to consume the chemical of their choice, in the amount of their choice, to relieve their pain?

Is not a "right to privacy" to treat your own medical condition in the manner that is best for you?

Rush use your stature and your money to advance the cause of liberty and original meaning constutionalism, as you preach on your radio program.

You are from the "show me state," Missouri, show us that you can defend liberty.

Could it be that Mr. Dean is taking full advantage of Rush for his own notoriety? Rush will certainly lampoon Dean for 10 minutes to Dean's delight. Just as long as Rush spells Deans name correctly.... Dean cares not of substance, he wants to portray himself as a victim. Otherwise, NOBODY would give this clown the time of day.. Dean is pitiful and should be dismissed by Rush.

What gets me mad is Dean's imitation of Rush making snorting sounds to describe his addiction.

Most of his nutty followers will think Rush was/is a coke or heroin snorter. Instead of being addicted to pain killers.

And this from a doctor, no less.

I thought it was interesting that the day after Dean made these comments about Rush, was the day that the Rush Limbaugh show was entirely devoted to raising money to cure Leukemia and Lymphoma. That clearly demonstrates to me who has class and who does not.
