FUND-RAISE TRIAL BARES STAR TREATMENT (liberal Hollyweirdos extorted perks to support Hillary)
NY POST ^ | 5/23/05 | KENNETH LOVETT

Posted on 05/23/2005 2:32:18 AM PDT by Liz

The trial of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's former fund-raiser has revealed the pampering demanded by Hollywood stars to attend political benefits.

Cher, Diana Ross, Patti LaBelle, Muhammad Ali and even civil-rights hero Rosa Parks all sought special perks to attend a 2000 Hollywood gala designed to raise money for Clinton's campaign.

Invoices, testimony and other evidence at the trial of David Rosen help explain why the event, according to prosecutors, cost more than $1.1 million, yet yielded the Clinton campaign only $57,000.

"It was a major problem with the celebrities," testified Blossette Kitson, a consultant hired to book artists for the fund-raiser. "They were demanding a lot."

.......event organizers shelled out $94,000 on private jets, first-class airfare, limos and hotels for celebrities and their entourages, according to invoices and other documents introduced into evidence.

Rosen, 38, is charged with deliberately underreporting the costs of the event to the Federal Election Commission to reduce the cost the campaign had to pay toward covering the event.

No celebrity's name has come up more often during the trial than Cher's.

"Cher had very specific requests," including the size of the plane, said Alan Krausen, a California travel agent hired to make ....arrangements.

Kitson said she (herself) tried to persuade celebs ......to drop some of their usual demands.

Now we are supposed to believe these greedy Hollywarped types are "tolerant and compasionate". Yeah, sure. They are all for their fellow-man.....just as long as they can make a buck on it.

These emoluments should be listed as bribes these so-called stars extorted from campaign funds specifically for their assistance in supporting Hillary.

These are the people who arrive in Hollywood in private jets, stop off at a $2000/night hotel suite to freshen up, continue over to the Academy Awards in a 25-foot limosine, step out wearing a $25,000 wear-one-time designer dress with big honkin diamond rings and earrings, then go inside and tell goofy reporters that rich Republicans are using too much of the earth's resources.

Evdence when the Clinton's "arrived"--when Bubba stopped air traffic on the runway at LAX to get his $250 or whatever it was haircut from the single named hair stylist. That is celeb pampering with the best of them. The clintons lost money on the event to keepo those celebs supporting hillariy and trashing repubs. It works because the celebs get media access whenever they want for the idiotic rantings. when you saee the word star-studded you now know exactly what that means.----payola

There's a thread around here somewhere about Toon extorting six-figures from an Irish charity to appear at one of its events. It's all about entitlement.

Are you certain about this story or is it conjecture, the giving BJs to moguls?

If you aren't certain of that allegation, you might be wise to have the post deleted, it is slandrous if untrue.

My favorite part is when they get into a Toyota Prius around the corner and drive it to the Golden Globe Awards to show how "concerned" they are. Then they take a limo to the coke party till 5 AM and the private jet back to their 10K sq.ft ranch in Utah!

Clinton Criticized for Charging Charity
NewsMax | 5/22/05 | Carl Limbacher

Volunteer groups in Ireland are criticizing ex-President Bill Clinton for charging a suicide prevention charity $125,000 for a 40 minute speech Monday night. "Any
initiative that contributes to the prevention of suicide is very welcome,” said Pat Buckley, spokesman for a group of Irish suicide support groups, in an interview with the Irish Examiner. "But the money it will cost for Bill Clinton to make this keynote speech would fund a lot of counseling for the bereaved and those at risk of suicide in places like Cork, Limerick or Kerry."

Clinton's fee, Buckley added, could also cover the costs of "voluntary [suicide prevention] activities of groups North and South."

RehabCare, which is hosting the event, refused to discuss Clinton's fee, insisting to the Irish Independent: "We have raised E600,000 [$750,000] from the sale of 120 tables and every cent of that is going to suicide prevention." "Mr. Clinton will speak for 40 minutes at the event in the Citywest Hotel and it is believed he will have something to say about the present situation in Northern Ireland as well as discussing suicide prevention in the Republic," the Independent said.

Suicide is a national crisis in Ireland, with the rate of those taking their own life increasing 400 percent in the last 15 years. Most victims are young men aged 15 to 24.

On Tuesday morning, Mr. Clinton will attend a breakfast at the Berkley Court Hotel in Dublin to raise money for the Rose Project, an Irish charity for AIDs sufferers in Africa. It's not clear whether the ex-president will be charging the AIDs charity for his speech.

Are you saying you were being sarcastic about the woman?

Or are you saying, I was being sarcastic to you?

Anyone stupid enough to wear a see-through gown---and allows herself to be photgraphed in it while her father is a candidate for president---is fair game for criticism, and for sarcasm.

Well, yes for criticism and sarcasm I guess. But I do think that posting what you posted constituted slander if you had no proof and it was said with malice. It was not just criticism, it was a falsehood.

I wondered if you thought I was sarcastic to you. I wasn't. JUst a heads up on the risks of internet postings and the laws of slander.
