Harry Reid: The Goblet Of Dire and Return of the Myth - (way over the top and beyond the pale!)
MENS NEWS DAILY.COM ^ | MAY 21, 2005 | SHER ZIEVE

Posted on 05/21/2005 2:22:53 PM PDT by CHARLITE

Instead of a magic wand, Harry Reid uses his mouth. And in place of fighting on the side of good, Harry readily and passionately embraces the dark forces. As Senate Minority leader, Reid has already taken the Democrat art of obstructionism far beyond that of his predecessor Tom Daschle. And in a manner similar to the infamous and ongoing Howie Dean screams, no Republican is safe from his rantings and invented falsehoods. Harry’s once quick smile has turned into a leer and his demeanor has degraded to that of a permanently enraged and deranged man. Yikes! His apprentice training is almost complete. Will we soon see his eyes begin to glow?

Just as Ted ‘the swimmer’ Kennedy is a prime example of what mindless reelections and unchecked rule lead to, Harry has become the model of what occurs when the Democrat’s “I’ll/We’ll do anything to regain power” motto is employed. Thus far, Harry has perpetrated many myths, if not outright lies, about Republicans, in general. In regards to the latest Democrat desire to filibuster President Bush’s appellate judicial nominees, Harry said Republicans are trying to "rewrite the Constitution and reinvent reality". Sorry, Harry. Not so. There are instances plainly identified in the US Constitution, which call for a “super-majority” vote in the US Senate. However, the nomination of judges is not one of them. Insisting on filibustering Republican judicial appointees, Harry and other Dems continue to cite the short-lived filibuster of Judge Abe Fortas. Unfortunately, the problem with this (as a viable example) is two-fold. First, both Republicans and Democrats “filibustered” Fortas. Second, Fortas was already a Supreme Court Judge and said filibuster was to keep him from ascension to the Chief Justice position. In the history of the United States, the filibuster tactic has never been regularly used to keep appellate or Supreme Court judicial nominees from being appointed. The Democrats are the “reinventers”.

Harry is also gleefully and with wild abandon employing the oft-used Democrat tactic of “the smear”. In order to cast aspersions on appellate candidate Judge Henry Saad, Harry said: "Henry Saad would have been filibustered anyway. All you need to do is have a member go upstairs and look at his confidential report from the FBI, and I think we would all agree that there is a problem there." Not only was this a highly unethical ploy on Reid’s part (Note: ethics have never been a strong suit of the Democrats) and one that is not allowed to be used by a Senator but, we the people have no idea what is contained in Saad’s files. These types of files are supposed to be kept “confidential”. Confidentiality, of course, means nothing to Democrats as they continue to employ their “seek and destroy” strategy. There is also a very good chance that whatever is contained in Judge Saad’s file may contain merely allegations with no substance. No matter. Little Harry will use them anyway. Note: Sounds to me as if ethics charges should be brought against Little Harry.

Then there is Harry’s comment ‘Bush is a loser’, made well after the president had won two back-to-back elections and had won in 2004 by 4 million votes. Loser? Not by my or any other rational being’s calculations. Continuing in his vein of attacking judges who are not pushing the activist leftist agenda, Harry said of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas: "I think that he has been an embarrassment to the Supreme Court. I think that his opinions are poorly written. I just don't think that he's done a good job as a Supreme Court justice." And recently, so that he could cover any bases not previously addressed, Harry even attacked Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan (who has held his position under both Democrat and Republican Administrations) when he said: “I think he's one of the biggest political hacks we have in Washington.” Whew! No one who isn’t left-of-left is safe from Harry’s mouth!

As has been made inexorably clear to the public, the Democrats will continue to use everything at their disposal to vilify their “enemies”…and most definitely anything they can get away with…in order to defeat the majority of the American people; in favor of personal power. The only way we the people can better ensure an up or down vote on judges, who will uphold the US Constitution instead of further destroying it, is to support the Constitutional option. Let your Senators know today and let’s keep the sovereignty of our country intact.

In addition to which, Justice Abe Fortas was bipartisanly blocked from the chief justiceship for clear-cut ETHICAL rather than ideological reasons.

"Dingy Harry" is such an embarrassment. I just cringe when he opens his mouth and I can only imagine what dems go through when they hear him. Was he really the best they could come up with or was it simply his turn?

Personally, I can't wait till tomorrow. I hope Russ does all he can to put Dean at ease the better for him to let fly. What does Miss Manners say about eating popcorn before noon?

Don't you know those people are proud as punch with their beloved Senator....ex-gambling commissioner, or was it ex-boxing commissioner.

I think we should all thank the dems for two decisions they have made since 11-4-2004, making Dingy Harry, Minority Leader,(with the emphasis on MINORITY), and Howard Dean, the Chairman of the DC!

With these two at the helm for 3 more years, there is no telling how far the dems will fall by 2008! If Hillbilly wants to run for POTUS she may have to think about starting her own party, because the Democrap Party is gonna be a joke!

and Howard Dean, the Chairman of the DC!

Rumblings abound that Howard will not be DNC chairman much longer. Oh how I pray that the rumors are false.

v"Not So." - good.
It goes downhill from there.
Yes, all of the above (in article) is correct (big ol') but, why not simply insist on vote or talk (English: put up or shut up.)?

Ah, c'mon, who have I "broad brushed"? Nevadans?

The voters, or enough of them think this guy is terrific, or he wouldn't keep getting elected, would he?

Okay, just to keep you, who I am sure didn't vote for him, from being insulted, I will narrow my broad brush down to Searchlight..

I am sure the people of Searchlight are just as proud as punch that he is their Senator...

Really, I hope you aren't offended...I certainly didn't mean to hurt anyone here on FR! Please accept my apology, I am sorry.

I think it's great that Dingy Harry (TM Rush), Deaniac, "Crazy-eyes" Pelosi, "Bar Wars: Revenge of The Lush" Kennedy (TM Savage caller of 5-20-05), etc. are the public face of the Democrat Party. We'll have a 75% seat majority in both houses of Congress before long.

No harm done.

Sometimes I just feel embarrased that the idiot is from my state.

I look at this way, it took South Dakota some time to wake up and can 'Lil Tommy.

That and, like another poster has already mentioned, he makes a great spokesidiot for the 'Rat party. Certainly can't complain about that.

Kewl---I am glad you aren't mad---

after I posted back to you, I realized that since my daughter got married and the whole family attended, in Lake Tahoe, I have a very fond memory of Nevada, that I will hold dear, all of my life.

Therefore, I am doubly sorry for what I said!!!

"Sounds to me as if ethics charges should be brought against Little Harry."

I believe ethics charges have already been filed.

No person is allowed to peruse the FBI files of ANYBODY. Only 2 exceptions - Judicial Committee people - or home state people. So if Reid got the information - it was from one of those dems - and I don't doubt they would tell Reid anything he wanted to know. I think ETHICS CHARGES SHOULD BE BROUGHT AGAINST WHOEVER GAVE THE INFO TO REID.

In Nevada (his home state), Reid Is the Name to Know; Members of this one lawmaker's family represent nearly every major industry in their home state. And their clients rely on Sen Reid's goodwill.

Ponder this: It was the kind of legislation that slips under the radar. The name alone made the eyes glaze over: "The Clark County Conservation of Public Land and Natural Resources Act of 2002." In a welter of technical jargon, it dealt with boundary shifts, land trades and other arcane matters — all in Nevada.

As he introduced it, Nevada's senior U.S. senator, Democrat Harry Reid, assured colleagues that his bill was a bipartisan measure to protect the environment and help the economy in America's fastest-growing state. ..... What Reid did not explain was that the bill promised a cavalcade of benefits to real estate developers, corporations and local institutions that were paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in lobbying fees to his sons' and son-in-law's firms, federal lobbyist reports show.

The IRS is looking into these phony trusts.

They need to nail Reid's collusion with businesses ---particularly officers of publicly-held companies---- in the scheme that might include corporations' misusing corporate reserve accounts, concealing losses, inflating asset values and improperly accounting for transactions, as well as deferring profits into reserve accounts, improperly shifting capital funding to other projects to hide illegal payments to Reid, and might have employed money laundering schemes to siphon money into Reid's campaign accounts, in order to evade the IRS, SEC, FEC and US banking laws.

Anyone with concerns should contact the SEC here: EMAIL enforcement @SEC.gov.

The "trust" itself should be looked at for excessive "legal fees" and "admin fees" which are classic money laundering schemes.

Harry Reid is in need of a group hug.

Have you hugged a rudderless, down-at-the-mouth, irritable liberal today?

And .. McCain the traitor is going to be on FOX News Sunday - I will not be watching. He's only getting this attention because he's bucking the repubs - and we all know it. If he was siding with Frist - the media would not touch him. That egotism is just too disgusting to watch.
