HILLARY CLINTON Hollywood event a flop in '00.
One of Hillary Clinton's top aides threw a hissy fit over the high costs of an extravagant Hollywood fund-raiser ..........
Ray Reggie, the brother-in-law of Sen. Ted Kennedy, testified..... that Clinton aide Kelly Craighead was upset days before the August 2000 soiree.
Craighead and Rosen argued "pretty hard" about the lavish fund-raiser, said Reggie, who got involved in raising cash for the campaign at the behest of then-President Bill Clinton.
"Kelly was concerned about how much money was going to be made at the event," Reggie testified.......
Rosen, who is charged with grossly understating the gala's costs, told her, "I'm the fund-raiser; I've got it under control," recalled Reggie.
Reggie, who is facing unrelated corruption charges, secretly recorded Rosen talking about the fund-raiser ........But the recording was not put into evidence at the trial.
Not only did the event cost far more than what was reported to the FEC, prosecutors charge, but it also raised peanuts for Clinton's Senate run. The campaign reported the event cost about $400,000, but some estimates have suggested the real cost was $1 million to $2 million.
.....a campaign worker, testified that the Hollywood event netted just $91,000 in so-called "hard money," of which $57,820 went to Clinton's campaign.
Reggie said yesterday that Rosen told him that "the last-minute costs crushed him," specifically travel expenses for the gala's star performers.
Meanwhile, a new poll suggests that Hillary Clinton may be hitting a glass ceiling she beats anyone for Senate re-election next year, but she'd have trouble in the 2008 presidential race against both Rudy Giuliani and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
Giuliani was seen as more "likable" than Clinton, by a margin of 46-39 percent, in the Fox News poll of registered New York voters.

Looks like they had to bribe all thise "tolerant and comppassionate liberal Hollywarped stars" to come out support Her Heinous.
"Tee hee, you like me?"
Craighead was President Bill Clinton's deputy assistant, scheduling trips and such, and went on to direct the advance team for his wife, Hillary. Later, she worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign for senator and was fund-raising director for her political-action committee.
In fact, when Craighead married political consultant Erick Mullen in 2001, it was Hillary Clinton who performed the ceremony.
She's visited 80 countries and met everyone from Nelson Mandela to Mother Teresa.
Erick Mullen, a former aide to Sen. Chuck Schumer
She met Rodham Clinton, worked closely on the July 1992 Convention, and helped plan the presidential inauguration. In one of her album pictures, an ebullient Bill Clinton is snapped leaving the inauguration platformand just ahead of him, in the background, is Kelly Craighead. She described and illustrated her presence at such events as a "find Waldo" exercise: wherever there is a photograph of the Clintons at an event, if you look closely, you will find her somewhere nearby.
Craighead's first job was as a member of Rodham Clinton's advance teamthe group of people that travels to a destination and plans every detail, down to appropriate dress and protocol, of a tripand she now directs the advance team. Craighead scouts possible visits to countries or projects that further Rodham Clinton's agenda of improving women's health, education, and civil rights. She has visited over eighty countries, many of them with Rodham Clinton. Their most recent trip was to Africa this spring. Craighead mentioned South Africa, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, and Russia as some of the more memorable trips.
One of the most satisfying aspects of her job is to be involved in Rodham Clinton's work to improve the lives of women worldwide, and to be able to witness, first-hand, the changes that Clinton's efforts have made. Rodham Clinton has taken the idea of micro-enterprises, a simple concept of making small loans to independent women entrepreneurs, to several third-world countries. One of the pictures in Craighead's album is of her with children in a village in Bangladesh, a site of one of the micro-enterprise projects. Women are loaned small amounts, from $50-100. Craighead likens it to the idea of our grandmothers' "egg-money." Although small, it enables women to empower themselves. "The loan repayment rate is a phenomenal 98 percent," said Craighead.
Remember the "good ole days".../sarcasm

PRESS BRIEFING BY
BARRY TOIV
Edgartown Elementary School
Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts
MR. TOIV: Good morning. Bonjour. First, an important personnel matter. As you all know, Capricia Marshall is going to become the White House Social Secretary. She'll also be coming up -- she has also arrived at Martha's Vineyard to take over for Kelly Craighead's responsibilities on the trip. But as White House Social Secretary, Capricia will be in charge of some of the most important parties in the country, including Kelly Craighead's 30th birthday party, which takes place tonight. And Kelly would have thought it -- I would have been remiss in not mentioning her 30th birthday.
(Sniffle), Ah, yes, I remember it well (sob).
She gives out small loans of 50 to 100 dollars, sounds like Evita Perone
Why do lower class poeple(which includes me) that are looking for wealthy people to attach themselves to, choose people like the Clinton's. Why not pick somebody that is not going to ask you to take a bullet(sometimes literally) 10 years down the road. I prefer people that once I break even with them, I can then wash my hands clean of them.
It cost $35,000 for special directors chairs, $50,000 to build the stage, $90,000 for invitations, and $50,000 for gift bags.
Hmmmm.......those are outsized figures. Maybe Rosen was dipping into the party income for himself.....inflating costs, maybe writing checks to sham businesses that were hidden accounts in his name. Could be why Rosen's taking the fall for the FEC violations. Maybe Rosen's scam was deeper than was originally thought----not just an FEC scam at all. Maybe some of the gala's costs went into private accounts, or Rosen's pockets.
They under-reported how much they spent so they could have more money for campaigning. Now if they spent the money for the fund-raiser where did the extra money come from for campaigning. Was it a way to launder illegal funds? And if so where they came from may be interesting.
The IRS, FEC and SEC should determine whether corporate contributors---or individuals posing as corporate contributors---misused corporate reserve accounts, concealed losses, inflated asset values and improperly accounted for transactions, as well as deferring profits into reserve accounts, improperly shifting capital funding to other projects to hide illegal contributions, and so on.
The IRS, FEC and SEC should determine whether there was proper accounting for the activities, whether they were inflating costs, and using income for the purposes stated.
We need to know the extent to which they engaged in Enron-style accounting and spending practices........and whether Global Crossing stock deals ala Terry McAuliffe took place. Any of these practices could jeopardize the financial interests of stockholders and would compel the SEC to step in. Anyone with concerns about these issues should contact the SEC here: enforcement@SEC.gov
NOTE WELL: Everybody in this case, with the exception of the Clintons themselves, is either under indictment or has already been convicted of some damned thing. Peter Paul, Aaron Tonken, Jim Levin, Ray Reggie, and now David Rosen. All convicted felons, or indicted on multiple felony charges. Yet, the Clintons survive unscathed.
One small difference---Evita always deferred to her husband, and acknowledged she got her power through him.
Peter Paul, Aaron Tonken, Jim Levin, Ray Reggie, and now David Rosen. All convicted felons, or indicted on multiple felony charges. Those Clintons sure know how to pick their friends, don't they? They were probably working with these folks to increase their spirituality when darn if they didn't all get indicted. Now you tell one. |
Evita Peyronie.
It's that darn VRWC.......
Don't you know about Clinton's "devastating" charm? (/sarc)
