Prime Minister of Egypt Ahmed Nazif and British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw met separately with President Bush at the White House.
A grenade thrown toward President Bush in the former Soviet republic of Georgia was live, but failed to explode because of a malfunction, the FBI said today.
President's remarks at the RNC Presidential Gala last night.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!
Just down the hill from me. Lake Washington.
Very beautiful.
OK now you've gotten me started, snugs! My husband and I just love squirrels, especially the grey ones. The ones who live in our oak tree are very sweet little animals. We feed them peanuts and now when they see us, a couple of them run immediately to us. They are the most entertaining little critters to watch as they never bore us. When we were in Niagara Falls, we saw grey, red and black squirrels. There are also one or 2 black squirrels who live near the golf course behind our house - they are very pretty.
A Clinton Wannabee is correct he still hangs out with him quite a lot in fact Clinton recorded a message of support for him during the recent election campaign.
Hurray for snugs!
Me too. We get such cute pictures when they go overseas together.
Thanks
To all just helping dad to bed back in a few minutes.
Just take your time gathering and arranging the info and you'll do fine (proofing is our FRiend lol). And remember the Admin Mods can delete or correct things nowadays. I was pretty nervous the first few times I posted this thread. rintense set a high standard and I didn't want to disappoint the Dosers.
NOT!!!!
BTW, I really like W's deep blue tie today. Sshhh, don't tell anyone.
IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT . . .
THE ECONOMY:
--The Stock Market has enjoyed the best 3 day period in six months!

--The price of oil closed below $48/barrel [Gas prices on the eastside of Cincinnati dropped below $1.90 today!]
""It seems like every barrel around the world, hiding under every rock, has come to America in these past weeks," said Phil Flynn, analyst at Alaron Trading Corp. in Chicago."
[Hmmmmmmmmmmm . . . And we know who's responsible for that don't we?!]

POLITICS:
RNC Chairman, Ken Mehlman shared the following facts at last night's Presidential Gala:
--President Bush is the first President since FDR to win re-election while his Party GAINED seats in the House and Senate!
--More House Republicans were elected in November than any election day since 1946!
--More Senate Republicans were elected in November than any election day since 1928!
--Over half of the states representing, 60% of the American people, are lead by Republican governors: You can travel the whole country coast to coast, north to south and never leave a state lead by a Republican governor!
And who made all this possible? PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH
[And yes, ELECTIONS DO MATTER.
Virtually every day, polipundit.com provides specific examples underscoring this thesis. Today's entry:
"My home states Senior Senator, Dianne Feinstein, just tried to amend the upcoming energy bill with a federal mandate on fuel efficiencies for trucks and SUVs.
Hmm, how do you spell that word, again? Social-ism??
In any case, and by a 15-7 slim majority, the GOP-controlled Senate Energy Committee rejected that silly proposal."

LEADERSHIP:
My favorite quote from the President's speech last evening:
Let me put it to you this way: I do not need a poll or a focus group to tell me where I need to lead this country. (Applause.) In the midst of the Civil War, the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln said, "As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew." And we continue that proud tradition today, as we're heading into the second term.
Many of the most fundamental systems -- the tax code, pension plans, health coverage, legal systems, and public education -- were created to meet the needs of an earlier time. In the next four years we'll reform these institutions to meet the needs of a new century. See, we have a duty. The job of the President is to confront problems, not to pass them on to future Presidents and future generations. (Applause.)
I saw that on the news. That annoyed me so much. The fact that he can have that sleazeball campaign for him says a lot about him.
Butting in here. When I went to college for a semester in England, I had more than one guy who wanted to date me because of my American accent.
On the other hand, me being mixed black and white, and I guess foreigners don't think of Americans of other races, I did have several people tell me that my English was 'very good' and ask where I learned it. It would always surprise them when I'd say 'I'm American. I'm a native speaker.'
spot-on imitations of Woodward that just had me rolling
Laura's imitations are a riot. One of her best is
Larry King.
Is this near were you live?
But almost every weekend I go down to SoCal's neck of the woods and act like a tourist!
As long as no one feeds him...
I love going to that lake. There's a park on the southern end that has walking trails, picnic areas, swimming, big honker docks to walk on as part of the trail circuit, a place I call Gnat Island with a little bridge to it ... the Olympic Mountains, Bellevue and Seattle to the north and west ... There are other parks on the lake, as it is a huge lake, but I am glad one is so close to my home.
