yes of course, Owens has more then 50 votes (but not 60) in a straight vote. But if some Rs agree to scuttle her as part of the compromise, then she does not have 50.

Why isn't Harry Reid having a heart attack over Nancy Pelosi, a member of the lowly and dispicable HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, talking about the procedures of the SENATE?

Didn't several democrats just whine about how terrible it was that the executive had the audacity to request the senate vote on nominees, as if it was a treasonable act of violation of the separation of bodies?

I'm kinda anxious to see how the media twists this. I think they have to be careful not to offend and that's not their greatest talent...(Just ask Newsweak)

So, I guess that it will be just another Bash-Bush news item.

Lott is no RHINO. He may be weak and moderate but I say RHINO is a different class.

The governorship is ripe for picking with RINO Perry, a former dem and not a strong leader imo. She considered it a few years ago. But he is pro-life while she is pro-choice and that can hurt her in Texas. I prefer to see her stay in DC where she is more effective than in a Texas governorship. Why, if indeed, she does want the gov office, I don't know.

That's exactly what it looks like. "Two large pies, extra cheese, pepperoni, sausage, onions, and peppers. Oh, and what are you guys gonna eat?"

* Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), on Compromise Over Judicial Nominations

He owes Hillary Clinton and NARAL for saving his butt. Get ready for some major lying! He thinks we still get our news from the same sources that covered his fruitcake father's butt for so many years.

Apparently, You didn't see this earlier:

sorry: that "whip count" "compromise" is NOT acceptable.

It gives all the Demodogs the ability to say "Gee, whiz: it was not ME who voted against the minority woman" --- it was those rascally Republicans." ---> No accountability.

No compromise. Up or down majority vote is the only Constitutional option.
