Outraged Freepers in the Tri State area are asked to join us in protesting Newsweek Magazine tonight. We will meet at the Newsweek Building, between 56th & 57th Street at 4:45 p.m. onward.
Signs are welcome.
Heck, if I looked like Ann Coulter, I'd be trying to date myself :-)
If you drink whiskey on a rollercoaster, hyperventilate into a plastic bag, and squint at the sun -- simultaneously -- you can see 7's wherever you like.
With a little weasley guy in the back ground laughing and saying...............
"HEh Heh Heh!!Hit hem h'rder Lib'rty, hit hem h'rder Lib'rty!!!"
Newsweak and the koran belong in the toilet.
I wouldn't give the magazine or the idiot muslims a pass on this one.
I'm going to print some of these up and stick them in the Newsweek magazine while waiting in line at the store, if you don't mind me borrowing your great grafic???
Part of me thinks these scumbags were just looking for an excuse to murder more innocents. Im sure of it. Not that it makes it ok the lie Newsweak told. They should be prosecuted imo.
Go for it!
If these people are dumb enough to riot over a story (raise your hand if you thought the folks in South Central LA were the brightest bulbs during the Rodney King riots!), they deserve what they got (and if you believe Newsweek 'killed' them... maybe you're hiding an ACLU "I'm a victim because someone hurt my feelings" card in your wallet?).
This is typical of the MSM. However this time people are dead.Newsweek has blood on their hands, and the ''apology'' I saw from the editor of Newsweek was extremely weak. By the look on this guys face he didn't seem sorry at all for the ''mistake''. Just sorry the story wasn't true! Anybody got Newsweeks E-mail address?
Yeah, Strother Martin plays weasly guys pretty well
Cuz then I'd try to date you.
LOL! Good luck! :-)
Its stuck in my mind forever.
I'll be in the old age home rockin' in my rockin' chair thinkin' bout Liberty Valance or some such old movie and hear it "Lib'rty Lib'rty!!"
Seems to me is was more like "Libbity! Libbity!"
Most public schools subscribe to Newsweak (that's how I'm spelling it from now on) for their civics classes. Even had it when I was in school. Just some more indoctrination for the kiddos.
Newsweak's irresponsible and malicious phony story of 5-9-05
has wider implications than the Middle East. Our friends, the Chinese love to play the "schadenfreude" card.
Who is violating religious freedom?

A report about the US troops desecrating the Quran at the Quantanamo Bay naval station has become the focus of the press lately. According to the report of the US Newsweek of the May 9th issue the US troops placed the Quran on toilets in order to "rattle Moslem prisoners". They even flushed the holy book down the toilet after tearing it page by page. The news, once broke out, aroused outrage among Muslims in different countries.
The desecration of the Quran by the US troops is, without doubt, the US troops' another crowning achievement after the prisoner abuse scandal. Their strategy has grown from physical torture and psychological persecution to desecration of faith. The further intensified practice on the part of the United States again revealed its hypocrisy and double standard on human rights question. At the inauguration ceremony on January 20 the American President George Bush put his left hand on a Bible and raised his right hand when he gave his oath. From this detail can be seen the significance of the Bible for the Christians. As the holy book of the Islamism the Quran has the same sovereign place in the mind of Muslims. According to the Islamic creed any desecrations of the Quran must be severely punished. Though fully aware of this the US troops nevertheless went on to desecrate the Quran in front of the Moslem prisoners.
For a long time the United States has posed itself as the "guardian of human rights". Disregarding political, economic, historical, cultural and social development differences among different countries it looks down on other countries' cultural and religious customs. It often makes arbitrary condemnations on human rights conditions in other countries according to its own values and ideology, and accuses others of violating religious freedom. The desecration of the Quran again revealed its "extremely conceived" arrogance. The facts proved that the one violating religious freedom is none other than the United States itself.

I suppose that it's safe to assume that you've tried this. 'Cause when I do it all I see are ones and zeros.
I agree with you on most of your post. But I do pick up
Newsweek in waiting rooms. Then I tear out the postage
paid cards , write some appropriate comments, and hurry to
find a mail box.
WHERE'S THE RETRACTION, NEWSWEEK?
TRUTH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
WORTHLESS APOLOGY
TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE
HOW MUCH COLLATERAL DAMAGE
IS OKAY WITH NEWSWEAK?
Just got my laptop back after being in the "shop" again, and I see this thread. Wow, an emergency Tri-State FReep... give 'em hell! And please ping me to an after-action report. Sorry I'm not close enough to get down there on such short notice... :-(
