HILLARY'S $TAR CRISIS (Rosen trial---greedy Hollyweirdos demand perks for Clinton bash)
NY POST ^ | May 12, 2005 | KENNETH LOVETT Post Correspondent

Posted on 05/12/2005 3:06:39 AM PDT by Liz

Hillary Rodham Clinton's former chief fund-raiser flew into a panic as costs for a star-studded Hollywood gala spiraled out of control — with coddled celebs making outrageous demands......

Former Clinton finance chief David Rosen was authorizing checks so quickly that he feared he'd be fired over the Aug. 12, 2000, extravaganza......

......Cher, Melissa Etheridge, Toni Braxton, Diana Ross and Michael Bolton agreed to perform for free, but that didn't come cheap......

Several wanted private jets — including Cher, who specified the exact model.

Others were content with first-class plane tickets, but wanted their entourages, including hairdressers and makeup artists.

It cost $50,000 to build the stage, $90,000 for invitations, $35,000 for special directors chairs that were given away as gifts, and $50,000 for gift bags.

Fearing for his job, Rosen created fake budgets and had false reports submitted to the FEC....

Rosen is accused of underreporting the cost of the $1.1 million gala by $700,000 and faces up to five years behind bars and a $750,000 fine.

Under FEC rules, the Clinton campaign had to chip in for the event. Thus, the more the extravaganza cost, the less would be available for election expenses such as TV ads and staff salaries.

.........Rosen's lawyer, Paul Sandler, indicated he might call former President Clinton to the stand.

In his opening statement, Zeidenberg stressed that the case "has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton."

The event was organized by Peter Paul, a convicted felon who told the FBI he gave hundreds of thousands of unreported dollars to the Clinton campaign.

.....Hillary Clinton didn't answer when asked about the case. She shrugged and lifted her palms skyward.

So it begins...........Hillary the victim

She could run nuns down in the street and some people would give her a pass.

Gotta love that concept!

Sort of like Monica. She performed for free but that didn't come cheap either.

;-)

And we all were forced to pay the price for that slut's willingness to get on her knees for a better job.

She'll make political hay with this, for sure.

The long version of Judicial Watch's Senate Ethics Complaint includes some excerpts from Aaron Tonken's book King of Cons.

At one point they thought it would be cool to have Rosa Parks, the civil right figure, come out and wave to the Clintons. She would come, but she wanted money and they had to send a Gulfstream 4 to come pick her up. They offered her a first-class airline ticket. No go; it was Gulfstream 4 or nothing. Tonken quotes Rosen as saying, "She's come a long way from the back of the bus." They turned her down.

Later she called back. "How about Air Force One?" she asked. Well, Billy-Bob wasn't going to swing by to get her, so that was the end of that.

King of Cons was a dissertation on Hollyweird greed. These people are beneath contempt.

I betcha if Rosa Parks was a sweet 20 something year old with big "assets" both physical and financial, Billy-Bob would have found a way to make a side trip

" . . .Cher, who specified the exact model."

I'm surprised that nitwit knows one model from another.

I would suspect she doesn't but her status conscious handler knows enough to insure she gets better treatment than the others.

Hmmmm.......those are outsized figures.

Maybe Rosen was dipping into the party income for himself.....inflating costs, maybe writing checks to sham businesses that were accounts in his name.

Maybe Rosen's scam was deeper than was originally thought----not just an FEC scam at all.

Maybe some of the gala's costs went into Rosen's pockets.

A little warning to all of us.

Nothing will happen to the Clintons. Rosen may go to jail, and the Clintoons will skate away thanks to the MSM.

I once heard the clintons compared to a hurricane. They come in to your life, turn it upside down, some people even die (if you're lucky you only get sent to prison)and they come out the other side none-the-worse-for-wear.
It really is an amazing phenomenon.

OK as i understand they under reported how much they spent so they could have more money for campaigning. my question if they spent the money for the fund raiser where did the extra money come from for campaigning. Was it a way to launder illegal funds. And if so where they came from may be the more interesting question.
