Heavy Metal Band System of a Down got one over on "Saturday Night Live" last night.
When the group performed "B.Y.O.B" from their new album "Mezmerize," the show repeatedly muted the F-word in the line, "Where the f--- are you?" But it missed guitarist Daron Malakian's screeched, "F--- yeah!" toward the end of the number. The camera even focused on him as he said it.
Fans of the group immediately hailed the move on System of a Down's Web site, with one noting, "The censors missed at least one 'f--- you.' Which was nice."
The band performed a second number, "Aerials," from their "Toxicity" album, without incident.
"SNL" traditionally doesn't use a tape delay. NBC did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The show has a history of controversial performances, from Ashlee Simpson getting caught lip-synching to Sinead O'Connor's ripping up a picture of Pope John Paul II.
Earlier, embattled "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul got the last laugh when the show spoofed her alleged Fox show sex scandal.
"What you're about to see is a reenactment of some events of this week's biggest news story," said Abdul as she introduced the NBC show. "Now, all the facts have been changed to get laughs at my expense. I hope you enjoy it."

Whatever it takes to try to boost ratings, I guess. SNL is so unfunny I'm surprised anyone watches it. I did last night, while clicking through the channels. And I did hear this band screaming obscenities. The only time I have ever heard of them is while scrolling through the muck and mire over at DU.
The show is not even watching anymore. I used to look forward to it years ago, now it is not even worth the time.
I'm glad David is spayed.
SNL has become like "Mel's Rock Pile" on the old SCTV series. Terribly un-hip, the only comedy is unintentional. The show has always cycled between hysterical and lame. This has to be the longest "lame" period since the Charles Rocket era.
Ackroyd and Chase are big fans of Fidel.
Chevy Chase is a total buffoon.Really stupid.Remember during the 04 election he shot his mouth off about W? I was watching some tennis benefit with Bush 41 playing tennis with Chevy, I wish 41 would have smashed Chase upside the head.
Am I missing something? is this a new band? I saw them and they're OLD...have they been around for awhile? I know I'm getting old, but this is ridiculous!
Those guys were my favorites as well. Tina Fey is destroying SNL.
But now that Tina Fey is the head writer, it isn't funny at all. The Weekend Update skits, although they have always been humorless, are nothing but lame anti-Bush rants with Tina and Amy Poehler onboard.Completely lame. They used to at least be evenhanded. I remember a 1980 skit with a bunch of candidates in an Iowa family's house bugging them over votes. When Ted Kennedy offered to drive the daughter to an event, they declined quite quickly. >:)

I've always thought Paula Abdul was hot.
SNL sucks bu
SNL hasn't been worth watching since the early 80's.

'Puter hiccup.
I watched it in the beginning with Akroyd, Belishi, Chase, Radner, etc. After that it was downhill. It is tough when you start at the pinnacle.
If you have never seen the Chevy Chase Richard Pryor job intervew then you have never seen the funniest TV ever.
Now if the band would have uttered a reference to ranching and horses, like Laura Bush did, then I'd be outraged.
