A large portion of the St. Nicholas' Episcopal Church parish dissatisfied with the direction of the national Episcopal Church was told this week by diocese officials to leave church property by June 1. A parish vote taken in March indicated 89 percent of the congregation preferred to dissociate itself with the national Episcopal Church but remain a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

I would think faxes and calls would be more effective than emails, but do what you can, please.
Anyone know of any good, traditional Episcopal churches in any part of northern Virginia such as Fairfax County?
If 89% of the congregants leave, there would not be much left, seems to me.
Praise God the 89% of your congregation who want to remain true to His Word and not get caught up in pleasing the world. Continue to follow the Lord and He will continue to bless you.
Trust the Lord. He will provide you with a place to worship. I'll keep your church in my prayers.
May the Episcopal Church USA see the light and turn from its wicked ways.
You know, the Mormons don't have these kinds of problems....;^)
By reputation, Truro (sp?) is a conservative charismatic church.
Robinson must be pleased with himself. He's getting exactly what he wanted. Destruction of the church.
I wonder if the media will be as hostile in their coverage of his actions as when the Baptist preacher was reported to have done nearly the same?

Not exactly parallel, but close enough that I bet the difference in media coverage will be quite noticeable.
Compromise? Why would you even consider such a thing. Jesus never did. Leave and go to bible-believing church.
There's nothing left, but his three hand-picked gnostics, so yes we will leave. It is just a building.
BUT there are legitimate emotional and practical issues here: the congregations struggled --- without help --- to build a new building.
People's lifetime bequests went into building the building.
There are people's loved ones' remains "buried" there (cremation urns walled up). Etc.
In short, we built the building with our money, sweat, and tears, and we don't want it turned into a gay bathhouse or a mosque or whatever Ohl would turn it into.
The "compromise" I was talking about was leaving the church, but buying back our own building. Not a spiritual compromise.
He won't here of that.
Try Truro in Fairfax, the Falls Church in that town, Church of the Apostles in Fairfax, St. Paul's in Haymarket. Also mission churches in Centreville and Ashburn.
The mighty power of the purse!
Perhaps the Bishop sat on his pointy little hat. Oh, wait do Episcopal Bishops wear those?
Hopefully this diocese alows the 89% to have thier own congregation and rector and remain in the World Wide Anglican communion and forget the American Episcopal church which is sliding down a long slippery slope anyhows!
Are there any polls out there that show support for the World Wide Anglican position vs. the position of the US Episcopal church?
It is demonmic the hold the homosexual agenda has over people- especially fuzzy headed churchmen.
Unfortunately, northern Viriginia comes under the purview of the Diocese of Virginia where Bishops Lee (diocesean) and Jones (coadjutor) both voted "aye" for the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson of N.H.; and (suffragan) Bishop Gray, who voted "no", is retiring...good luck!
As others have already said, Truro Episcopal in Fairfax City may be what you are looking for. Or the Falls Church in Falls Church, Va.
Sounds like 89% should be enough to wrest control away from a doddering old fool.
True, we don't.
