GO, DOUG!
Had just turned on the radio in my car and did a doubletake when I heard you were on air. A surprise but a good one. You did a great job.
Sean has always been a friend of the Freepers. There is always going to be criticism. Hey, that is the way we are. Sean can take it.
Sean said he is not writing another book. He is so successful he doesn't have to. Good for him.
Sorry I missed you in DC. Last minute family stuff.
Bill in Hershey.
Aw crap! How'd I miss THAT??? That's disgusting!!! That should be recorded on CD's and I'd buy one!!!
I don't usually get to listen to Sean, but was in my car - you did good, DFU.
Thanks for saying so!
So true! "We" all need to hang in there and not criticize our own guys! THEY DO READ FR.
Let's keep our eye on the prize. We are on the same side. Sean is a very powerful ally for our cause.
Right on Doug!!!! You are awesome!!!!!! Sorry didn't get to post earlier. You are right!! Sean is on OUR side!! He is one great guy~
.....and anyone who listened closely could tell that it was the Freepers you were gently zinging!!*G*
You're right. And, politics aside (I really don't know Brian's), but Brian Lamb of C-Span's Booknotes is a great interviewer too.
Really, a big problem with Sean is that he seems absorbed in his own righteousness and his own personal impressions of things. Yesterday I noticed it again, as I do nearly every time he interviews someone. He asks a question, he gets an answer from the interviewed, then immediately goes into an explanation of how HE FEELS about the question. He seldom REPLIES to what was said to him. That is no way to get information from someone.
This was particularly irritating and unbeneficial when he was interviewing John O'Neill of the Swift Boat Vets. (To his credit, at least Sean "interviewed" him often.) When it was extremely important that the public know what John and the rest of the Vets had to say about Kerry, Sean continually failed with his interviews. Often, in framing his question to John, he went into long, unnecessary explanations of HOW HE FEELS about the issue before he got to finally asking the question, leaving the interviewed very little time to answer. It's too often all about him.
Also, if he's going to be a "spokesman" for conservative causes I would hope he would knock off the self-righteous, Mr. Clean posture. And his radio commercials all day and as lead-ins to his show speak of a guy who thinks he does no wrong. It's a real putoff (I only wonder how gross his posturing is to someone who doesn't agree with his politics-as I do).
Since we all are in the business of trying to influence (on the fence voters) people to our causes, he should knock of the piety. It's really gross coming from such a relatively common adolescent thinker.
He's probably going to be around for a long while. Imo, it is of great importance that he quit acting like his morality is above all others. It really is disgusting, and as I said, it's the on the fence voters and listeners whom he should be trying to and must influence. I know dozens of people on our side who find his self-righteous presentation off-putting. They have a hard time listening to him. Can you imagine how painful it must be for a person who is not completely with him politically to listen to his overly righteous delivery?
He must improve. Our "spokesmen" must try to erase any characteristics that turn off voters. It's so very important that our conservative ideas be judged, not our personalities.
With all your sarcasm, your mom probably can't wait for your mother's day card... ;-) LOL
Geez, the guy has tens of millions of listeners and gets lots of advertising.
What channel are you on again and when is YOUR show?
You sounded much taller on the radio than you do here at FR.
Hey guy, happened to catch your time with Sean today.
You were giving me flashbacks again of fond times hearing you with George Putnam.
You are by no means an newcomer to being a guest and source to these shows.
I'm guessing you've been at this on some level in radio as a guest for at least around 20 years now... Right?
I remember I used to listen here in the Los Angeles area to Putnam before there was even a Rush Limbaugh and I believe you were a guest way back in those caveman times...
Great stuff.
You missed the point, but I'll ask you anyhow....... what sarcasm? I was very direct speaking of Seans' self-righteous attitude and lack of interviewing skills. By the way, do you think that I would bother writing this if I didn't badly want him to become better and to subsequently have the ability to bring more voters over to the right side? I wouldn't.
But, what sarcasm are you talking about, or in your haste did you just use the wrong word?
Jerry Corsi was live on "Coast-To-Coast" last night - discussing his Iran Freedom Foundation
Host George Noory told his nationwide audience that his cller board was full of listeners wanting to talk to Jerome Corsi and that he had to get him back for an extended show appearance on Coast-To-Coast

Millions of listeners, perhaps approaching Rush and you think the guy has massive professional faults? Oh brother!
important but improvable shortcomings
If you cannot agree to that, there is nothing I can say.
He's human, has a healthy east coast attitude and is a pretty good guy who does his job well.
Granted he's Catholic like I am, but we're not going to elect him Pope tomorrow, nor are we expecting him to live up to an impossible standard.
There are professor types, lawyer types and so forth.
Sean is a well prepared person who is a concerned man of the people type who is also an intelligent guy.
He's not Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh or Ronald Reagan... He is himself, not perfect and we all kind of have to let him be what he is and let this go.
If he causes you to lose control of your bladder or something, turn the channel and go for Dr. Laura or traffic news.
I acknowledge he can't please 100%, but he does have a huge satisfied following.
He is a conservative with principles.
I do agree he also has probable advice from Rush on how to market himself and his goods. That isn't a sin, it's called merchandising.
Big deal, good for him, all the success in the world and all.
Have a great morning.
With whom are you agreeing?
;-)
