That is the one part about this I don't like. She should have claimed amnesia, or that she couldn't see who took her. Blaming Hispanics was a bad thing, although perhaps it popped into her head because she was in the Southwest.

That's correct. He also said that in recent days she had been moving her furniture into his house in preparation for the marriage and would occasionally stay there, but that they were not living together.
That's a far cry from living together for five years.

She did not accuse a particular person by name. She did not claim great harm was done to her. She did not claim she was a victim of a "hate crime" the worst crime in these PC days. She did not even claim she was a victim of a crime until after riding on a bus a few days she found the entire nut case world of cable news had made he the latest cause of the day. [I have not been on the Greyhound in recent years but somehow I doubt they have "in flight" television yet.] She claimed she was a victim of a crime for a short time possibly after she realized all this effort been expended to find her and that many though she had been a victim of a crime.
Why should I have one bit of sympathy for her?
You shouldn't necessarily. I don't. It is not my business nor the publics' business that she ran out on her wedding. That is a private matter. Grandstanding DAs and Police Chief's on the other hand is a matter for the public

Let's see now. She planned this out. Bought her ticket in advance. Cut her hair. Left clothes in a parking lot. Lied to everyone and still is. John said this evening that "she didn't have a clue about the publicity". No TV at bus stations? No newspapers anywhere? Stayed at the Treasure Island and there were no TV's there either? I really do feel sorry for John because he loves her and she obviously do not love him.......or really care about her family after what she put all of them through!
So true. It is absolutely pathetic to see how much emotional energy some of these people have invested in this. They need to GET A LIFE.
Thank you. I don't understand why others would want, indeed take joy, in the desire to punish a person for something like this. It reminds me of the Taliban, or a witch hunt, or a lynching. Just driven by some anger that seems all out of proportion.
If you're comfortable with judging somebody you don't know based on NEWS REPORTS, go right ahead.
