Father arrested over objections to homosexual curriculum in son’s kindergarten class.

LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, APRIL 27. Lexington parent, David Parker, was arrested today by the Lexington Police for “trespassing” at his son’s elementary school during a scheduled meeting with the principal and the city’s Director of Education over his objections to homosexual curriculum materials and discussions in his son’s kindergarten class.

At the meeting, Parker demanded that the school inform him when homosexual subjects are to be discussed with his son, and allow his son not to be included in such activities. He said he would not leave until his request was granted. The Principal and the city’s Director of Education both refused his request. They then telephoned the Superintendent of Schools who also refused. Police were called, who told Parker that unless he left the school he would be arrested.

Statement by David Parker(April 27, 2005):

“I, David Parker, am the father of a kindergarten student at Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington, Massachusetts. Since the beginning of this school year, my wife and I have learned that school materials and discussions about gay-headed households/same-sex union issues have been exposed to the children. There are definitive plans to increase the teacher/staff/adult mediated discussions of these subjects.

“We have officially stated on many occasions—to the Lexington school administration—a request that we be notified when these discussions are planned, and want our 6-year-old opted out of such situations when arising “spontaneously”.

“Our parental requests for our own child were flat-out denied with no effort at accommodation. In our meeting on April 27, I, insisted that such accommodation be made and refused to leave the meeting room. I was informed that I would be arrested.”

Parker will be arraigned on Thursday, April 28, in Concord District Court at 9 am. “This is an unbelievable outrage,” said Brian Camenker, a friend and Newton, Mass. parent. “It’s where last year’s same-sex ‘marriage’ ruling has brought us.”

OK, you have left me speechless.

This must stop.

Another way to get rid of Republicans, teach them to love the same sex, sure stops the birthing of babies.

Mitt Romney should use his executive prerogatives, pardon this father, and make a big show of it as clear signal to the Marxist thugs who control the Mass public schools.

Maybe he should move to Texas.

ODESSA - The school board in this West Texas town has voted unanimously to add an elective Bible class to its high school curriculum.

Hundreds of people, most of them supporters of the proposal, packed the board meeting Tuesday night. About 6,000 Odessa residents had signed a petition supporting the class.

That public school is public...duh...so how can this taxpayer be "trespassing" when he is in the building he helped pay for? AND he did have an appointment to be there, didn't he? If these questions be stupid, then color me stupid.

I agree. It would ultimately become self-defeating. I understand the reason behind it. And I like the idea of competitiveness between schools that it encourages. But I just don't see it working in the long run. Unfortunately. It's a creative idea. But wherever there's federal money, there's trouble.

He said he would not leave until his request was granted.

That is trespass. He was not arrested because he objected to the curriculum, but for the way in which he demonstrated his objected.

What in the world is happening to this country? Is it me, or have we just sprouted a hellmouth in the northeast? It scares the heck out of me. And I'm not particularly religious or prudish. Beware folks this is really beyond the pale. This is Sodom and Gomorrah.

They don't sound stupid to me. Even if he didn't have an appointment, as you said, he is a taxpayer and as such has legal access to that "Public" facility. Unless of course the schools are going to try and have themselves classified as Top Secret facilities..

He was arrested for the high crime of Contempt for the Almighty Master of the Peoples' Glorious Democratic Public School System.

'Trespassing' was just the excuse.

Right... you sit in my office and refuse to leave and watch how fast the cops drag you out.

While I applaud his method of passive resistance and the use of the media, we need to report the FACTS and not use misleading headlines.

I agree with you. For 15 years or more the main stream media, elitist educators, the judicial system, state and federal lawmakers and entertainers have worked feverishly to deconstruct the American family. Now they have moved into the phase of reconstructing another type of family which does not offend their sensibilities.

The public education system has completely broken down and degraded to this type of contemptible behaviorship on the part of the school systems leadership, from the school administrator to the head of the NEA. Now, this leadership, rather than sit down and reason with a concerned parent (remember, one of the schools most voiced criticism is there is little or no parental involvement), enjoin the state police to arrest a concerned parent, rather than acceed to reasonable demands of this father. Up is down and yes is no.

Time to get the kids out of indoctrination camps called public schools.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Last year the Mass. school superintendent (can't remember his name, Thomas something or other) made the happy announcement that since "gay" marriage is now the law of the state, school cirricula have to change and mirror that fact. So naturally, "gay is good" is now part of class teaching, K-12.

Rip, snatch, grab your kids out of public schools now. Being opted out here and there won't do any good at all.

What amazes me is that so many people hear stuff like this (if they read FR at least) and just shrug their shoulders - oh, that's in another state. Oh, the father should have left, it's his fault. Oh, I don't have any kids. Oh, my kids will go to private school.

When the whole country is being turned into a garbage dump by immoral, evil people who want to destroy the natural family, every single public reference to God including crosses on private land, and all hints about basic human morality, you think your little house won't experience the fallout?

Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.

And to think that we still have young soldiers, Marines, etc. fighting and dying for this country, really a nice feeling isn't it? Somehow there's a great disconnect and it's up to us to reconnect here at home while our young people are still fighting in faraway lands. If they have the courage to VOLUNTEER to do that, I think we can muster the courage to combat this scourge of perversion and help make this truly a place worth coming home to.

Activists often occupy administration buildings at universities, and do not always get arrested.

No because once vouchers are introduced to private schools, the feds will be able to enforce this kind of thing there too. No vouchers.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'd much rather see tax credits for parents who homeschool or send their children to private school. That way the parents decide how to spend THEIR money on their child's education, and gov.org is left out of the process.

You hit it on the head. Romney is all about his commie-lib self. I hope the rest of the country is watching what's going on under his lib leadership in taxachusetts. It scares me to think that some people are calling this guy a rising star in the Republican party. This guy has done absolutey nothing but raise fees and cower to the ultra libs.

Since your office is your private property (or leased from a private owner), you are in an entirely different situation.

Here's how it is:

Father : "Quit teaching my kid about buggery"

Commissar of Schools : "No. Now leave, or I'll have you arrested. OBTW, if you take your kid out of school, I'll have him arrested for truancy, and have you arrested for child neglect. Have a very pleasant day."

Our Civil "Servants" think they are Civil Masters.
