U.S. sodomy lobby attacks Pope Benedict XVI
WorldNetDaily ^ | 4/26/05 | Les Kinsolving

Posted on 04/26/2005 6:38:17 PM PDT by wagglebee

New York's Gov. Al Smith not only opposed Prohibition, but in 1928 he became the first Roman Catholic ever nominated by a major party to be president.

This resulted in some of America's worst anti-Catholic expressions of bigotry – including a rumor that Gov. Smith was planning to invite the pope to make an extended visit in order to supervise the conversion of this nation to a Roman Catholic country.

When Gov. Smith lost to Herbert Hoover by 444 to 87 electoral votes, he had the good sense of humor and sportsmanship to announce that he had just sent a one-word cable to the pope: "Unpack."

Now, within hours of the election of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as the new Pope Benedict XVI, this new pope has been attacked by at least four of America's Sodomy Lobby:

* The "Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian And Gays (PFLAG) stated that the new pope does not represent a hopeful vision of the future ... He authored a Vatican document condemning marriage and adoption by gay men and lesbians in July 2003."

The Washington Blade (a Washington, D.C., homosexual newspaper) described the document as "a battle plan for Catholic politicians". (Think of that – a "battle plan"! Will the new pontiff come to the United States – as rumored in 1928 – to help Catholic politicians like Sen. Kerry win the battle?)

* The Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation "is calling on the nation's media to examine Ratzinger's documented rhetoric and writings related to gays and lesbians ... In documents dating back to the 1980's, Ratzinger has branded gays and lesbians as 'objectively disordered' and being gay as a 'moral disorder' requiring a 'conversion from evil.' He has accused gay and lesbian parents of 'doing violence to their children' and he has denounced laws protecting same-sex couples and families as 'the approval or legalization of evil.'"

(Question: Did GLAAD learn all this in the two days since Cardinal Ratzinger's election? Or isn't it far more probable that they have been researching him – as the enemy – for years, in order to produce an extensive documentary of denunciation even before he is installed?)

* The deceptively titled "Human Rights Campaign" (which really ought to be honest enough to change that title to "Sodomy Rights Campaign") stated the following: "We hope Pope Benedict XVI will follow the biblical tradition of expressing love and compassion for all."

Where in the Holy Bible is there any verse expressing approval of the act of sodomy? In the New Testament, Jesus Christ, speaking to those who offend little children (and what is more offensive than child molesting?) said: "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than he should offend one these little ones" (Luke 2:17).

The "Human Rights Campaign" also noted: "In 1986, Cardinal Ratzinger in a letter to the Catholic bishops, wrote: 'Although the particular inclination of the homosexual person is not sin, it is a more or less strong tendency ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil.'"

* The Rainbow Sash Movement wrote that they were "deeply disappointed with the choice of Cardinal Ratzinger as pope. We had hoped for a pastor and shepherd, instead we get a doctrinal enforcer." This statement goes on to declare: "We remind our fellow Catholics that we are the Church ... The Rainbow Sash Movement will continue to call for openness, toleration and inclusion in the Church."

(Question: Have Rainbow Sash or any of these other three organizations made any statement that there should be marriage for other sexual orientations, such as necrophilia, sadomasochism or bestiality?)

It was rather disagreeably hasty for these four groups to attack the new pope so quickly. But all of their attacks are a badge of honor for this moral leader, who was so quickly elected to lead what is by far Christianity's largest denomination.

Cardinal Ratzinger on Laicism and Sexual Ethics

"An Aggressive Secular Ideology Which Is Worrying"

ROME, NOV. 19, 2004 (Zenit.org).- Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger warns that laicism is endangering religious freedom.

In an interview with the newspaper La Reppublica, the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith said that "there is an aggressive secular ideology which is worrying."

"In Sweden," he said, "a Protestant pastor who had preached about homosexuality, based on a line from Scriptures, went to jail for one month. Laicism is no longer that element of neutrality which opens up spaces of freedom for all."

"It is being transformed into an ideology which is imposed through politics and which does not give public space to the Catholic or Christian vision, which runs the risk of becoming something purely private and thus disfigured," he added.

"In this sense, a struggle exists and we must defend religious freedom against the imposition of an ideology which is presented as if it were the only voice of rationality, when it is only the expression of a 'certain' rationalism," the cardinal clarified.

Following are excerpts from the interview, reported by the Vatican Information Service.

Q: For you, what is laicism?

Cardinal Ratzinger: A just laicism allows religious freedom. The state does not impose religion but rather gives space to religions with a responsibility toward civil society, and therefore it allows these religions to be factors in building up society.

Q: Where is God in modern society?

Cardinal Ratzinger: He has been put on the sidelines. In political life, it seems almost indecent to speak of God, as if it were an attack on the freedom of those who do not believe.

The world of politics follows its norms and paths, excluding God as something that does not belong to this world. The same in the world of business, the economy, and private life. God remains marginalized.

To me, its seems necessary to rediscover -- and the energy to do so exists -- that even the political and economic spheres need moral responsibility, a responsibility that is born in man's heart and, in the end, has to do with the presence or absence of God.

A society in which God is completely absent self-destructs. We saw this in the great totalitarian regimes of the last century.

Q: A big issue is sexual ethics. The encyclical "Humanae Vitae" produced a gap between the magisterium and the practical behavior of the faithful. Is it time to remedy that?

Cardinal Ratzinger: For me, it is clear that we must continue to reflect. In his first years as Pope, John Paul II offered a new anthropological, person-centered approach to the problem, developing a very different vision from the relationship between the "me" and "you" of men and women.

It is true that the pill has given rise to an anthropological revolution of great dimensions. It has not been, as thought in the beginning, the "only" solution for difficult situations. But it has changed the vision of sexuality, the human being and the body itself.

Sexuality has been separated from fecundity and in this way it has profoundly changed the concept of the human life.

The sexual act has lost its purpose and finality, which before was clear and specific, so that all forms of sexuality have become equivalent. Above all, from this revolution comes the equalization between homosexuality and heterosexuality. This is why I say that Paul VI indicated a problem of great importance.

Q: Homosexuality is a topic that regards love between two people and not just mere sexuality. What can the Church do to understand this phenomenon?

Cardinal Ratzinger: Let me say two things. Above all, we must have great respect for these people who also suffer and who want to find their own way of correct living. On the other hand, to create a legal form of a kind of homosexual marriage, in reality, does not help these people.

Q: Therefore you judge negatively the choice made in Spain?

Cardinal Ratzinger: Yes, because it is destructive to the family and society. The law creates morality or a moral form, since people habitually think that what the law affirms is morally allowed.

And if we judge this union to be more or less equivalent to marriage, we have a society that no longer recognizes either the specific nature of the family, nor its fundamental character; that is to say, the nature of man and woman which is to create continuity -- not only in a biological sense -- for humanity.

For this reason the Spanish decision does not provide a real benefit to these people since in this way we are destroying the fundamental elements of an order of law.

Q: Sometimes the Church, in saying no to everything, has met defeat. Should it not at least be possible for a pact of solidarity between two homosexuals to be recognized and protected by the law?

Cardinal Ratzinger: But to institutionalize an agreement of this type -- whether the lawmaker wants it or not -- would necessarily appear in public opinion like another type of marriage that would inevitably assume a relative value.

Let us not forget that with these choices, to which Europe tends today, shall we say, in decline, we make a break from all the great cultures of humanity that have always recognized the very meaning of sexuality: that is, that men and women were created to be jointly the guarantee of the future of the humanity -- not only a physical guarantee, but also a moral one.

Diocese of Cleveland to Fly its website's Rainbow Gay Pride Flag at Half Mast?:

From previous stories on Bishop Pilla:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1060132/posts

In March, 2002, about two years after leaving the diocese, Charlie [the bishop's former lawyer] says he met again with Bishop Gries. “I met with Bishop Roger and I told him as a friend that he needed to tell Pilla to step down. That's all I said.”

I prod him to continue. “Because of the manner in which all of this had been handled.”

Charlie later says, “The thing that really fried me was the way the church in Cleveland has agreed to ‘infanticize' Anthony. It's like he's a child. ‘Oh, he didn't know this, he didn't know that.' Wait a minute, oh merciful God. Then what's he in charge of one million Catholics for? Yes, Quinn did crazy stuff, but he was a lieutenant, you are the general. Why didn't you stop it?

The following appeared in "The Wanderer's" From the Mail Section.:

In Cleveland, which has been racked with the most damaging sex abuse scandals outside of Boston and Los Angeles, diocesan officials, including Bishop Anthony Pilla, maintain a stiff upper lip as some homosexual activists in the chancery and parishes continue to transform parishes into gay-friendly communities. Consider:

The Diocese of Cleveland's official web site (www.dioceseofcleveland.com) greets the viewer with a rainbow flag, and gay activists at the diocese's Gay and Lesbian Family Ministry (GLFM) office are way out and way proud.

One member of the GLFM recorded his experience on an area gay web site of his participation in the Cleveland Gay Pride Parade, informing, "The catholic group had a very nice sized contingent. There were a whole ton of other religious groups as well...Oh, did I mention that I am in the same video as a pornstar?!...Our table was almost across from The Grid's table, so we got to watch Matt Rush shirtless signing autographs and posing for pictures most of the afternoon. I felt so uncouth ogling a pornstar and trying to be a respectable representative of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland...

"The Stonewall Democrats had the booth next to The Grid, and they had some mighty fine shirtless guys sitting at their table, too. After we took down our table at the pride festival, seven of us from the Catholic group went out to dinner...We also had the same waiter that we had last time...the cute one with attitude."

The author of that revealing letter is the apparent friend of Brian Halderman, a longtime gay activist of the Diocese of Cleveland who recently announced that he is joining the Society of Mary (Marianists) in Dayton.

In another Internet chat thread sent to FTM by a Cleveland reader, Halderman revealed that while a parishioner at Ascension Church (a church plagued by a number of predator priests), he was a chatechist involved in the sacramental preparation of second graders.

Reader, does all this help you understand what bishops such as Clark and Hubbard and Pilla mean by the "lay-run church.

The following exchange appeared in an article on a gay convicted priest here in Cleveland. [Note: Burkhart is a gay detective and McBride is the gay priest]: Burkhart and McBride dined on crab cakes and chatted lightly. After dinner, McBride turned the conversation to the recent Catholic Church scandal. He hoped that, when it was all over, the church would recognize that priests are sexual beings too -- and that some are gay. "Back in the 1960s, would you have ever come to a place like this?" Burkhart asked. "I mean, in this town, where you were working?" "Probably not, no," McBride said. "Realistically, in 1960, no." "And in certain places it looks like the seminary on Saturday night now," Burkhart joked. "Yeah, that really is how it is," McBride said. They compared notes on seeing clergy in gay bars. Then Burkhart stammered as he asked McBride a personal question: "So, whenever you had sex . . . were you bound to go to confession and confess it before you said Mass, or . . .?" "Well, you were supposed to, yes," McBride said. "Do you think all these priests do?" "No," McBride said. "I think they changed their minds and decided it's not a sin." "Sodomy Lobby" has a nice ring to it. "Sodomy Lobotomy" sounds even better. Either way, the practice is abominable and should not be sanctioned by any civil society. OTOH, I don't go out of my way to pester those who indulge in unnatural propensities. If they want to pester civil society in order to make their perversion the norm they'd best be ready for a swift kick in the posterior with razor boots.

My only problem with that statement is its too tolerant.
Homosexuality is an aberrant depraived practise contrary to nature.

The homosexual activist lobby is intent upon disseminating their perversions and forcing society to accept their sickness as normal.

Someday science will discover a cure for homosexuality.

One is known by his enemies. Or rather, those who choose to become enemies. The new Pope Benedict is in good company with enemies like these. If they liked him, it would be very bad news.

Meaning Pope Benedict does not represent a hopeful vision for their (gays) future.

It's all about them. They will excoriate anyone who tells gays they are wrong.
