Berkeley Stop the War Coalition

I missed the fun at the Berkeley campus yesterday. Apparently students from the "Berkeley Stop the War Coalition" were there to prevent military recruiters from coming on the campus. Protest Warrior and the College Republicans were present to offer an alternative viewpoint to the "Stop the War" crowd. I would like to hear from you if you were in on the mission. If you have pictures, please post them here.

Paging the Californians...please give us a report if you were part of the squadron that intercepted Berkeley fleabag forces.

Hey Rockthecasbah...I presume it's OK if I add you to the CA alert list?

UC Berkeley is a political caricature of itself. Ignorant and inexperienced college students complaining about esoteric global nonsense way beyond their sphere of expertise while planning their next ecstasy rave and how to get cheat notes for the upcoming "diff-e-que" midterm. All the while the human wreckage of alcohol and drug abuse litter their streets and alleys. I wonder if they realise how stupid they appear from the outside looking in?

"how to get cheat notes for the upcoming "diff-e-que" midterm."

How many of these campus radicals do you think can even handle "diff-e-ques" - [differential equations]? The center of idiocy on campus isn't the math department.

Ignorant college students - if they got into Berkeley they are far from ignorant -I do get a kick out of people whom trash places with comments like yours; now I am sure those fine students at that most famous university in New Mexico has no students that protested the war, do drugs, or do alcohol. By the way ignorance and inexperience are two big reasons people go to college.

They can still be book smart and yet super ignorant (unaware and uninformed)

unaware and uninformed - sounds like a great reason to go to school, to become aware and informed.

My characterization is accurate. The smart ones barely passed the TOEFL, and can be seen behind the physics building sucking down a smoke between simulations.

There's no denying that Berkeley has high enrollment standards and is a top school. A degree from Berkeley is a great calling card in the postgraduate world. It is faintly ironic, however, that the faculty, administration and a goodly portion of the student body of an institution that proudly touts itself as the cradle of the free speech movement do not necessarily tolerate the free speech of those who dispute leftist doctrine. It's refreshing to see an emboldened conservative voice in the "cradle" of the free speech movement. The pendulum has swung.
