after they finish saying he is 78 and will die soon,

Actually, I believe this was the only "positive" thing some liberals and Tom Shales from Washington Post had to say.......that he is old and "hopefully" he will be dead soon. And they claim that DeLay criticizing judicial activism is "shocking."

Good run down of Liberal panic and calling the new Pope "God's Rottweiler" is found here.

I'm sure Catholics don't give a fig what non-Catholics think about their Pope.

You can't defrock a priest just for freethinking. No matter if you're a priest or not, you have free will and the choice to agree or disagree.

Thanks, I thought of this verse as well:

"First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires."

Yes you can. Bishop O'Brien defrocked a friend of mine, Father Tom Doyle, for writing a letter about a shortage of chaplains and how to scale back daily mass at some locations. Of course this was his pretext--the issue was really Father Doyle's speaking out against the sex abuse and cover up.

"Not Happy" is kid of vague. Since I don't know your wife's boss, I wouldn't know if it was one more to the list or not.

Is your wife's boss gay? A feminist? Does he/she favor married priests, female priests, homosexual priests? Is he/she a fan of liberation theology? Marxism? Relativism?

What specifically about Pope Benedict XVI makes your wife's boss unhappy?

too conservative for his liking. too tied to orthodoxy.

Love people like this. Morality and orthodoxy doesn't quite fit their lifestyle. They think that absolutism is malleable and that the Bible is a 'living document' like the U.S. Constitution.....a veritable balloon animal to be twisted, stretched and configured to your liking.

Looks like they're disappointed that "Thou shalt bugger thy neighbor" and "Thou shalt munch thy neighbor's carpet" won't be found in the Ten Commandments.....

As Fr. Richard John Neuhaus noted, those disgruntled catholics who will be upset by this election fall into 3 groups that make up 1% of the 1.1 billion catholics around the world. The Church will not change its teachings to suit them.

No question, this was a black eye to the 'culture of perversion.' [smile]

The CC could not have elected a more conservative pope than Domenic XVI. The message is crystal clear. No pandering to Satan's forces. A SIN is a sin and tradition is tradition.

They should find another more 'progressive' institution.

The National Coalition of American Nuns noted that the new pope has the reputation of being "rigid in his position as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, silencing and expelling theologians, priests and nuns whom he perceived as not being orthodox.

That's exactly why God chose him to be Pope!
