OK..here's what we know..Senate is in recess for the weekly party caucus luncheons. Supposed to resume at 2:15. on C-span 2.. The Foreign Relations committee is supposed to meet at 2:45 to vote on the Bolton nomination. Lugar has refused requests for a delay. Just before the Senate recessed, Reid objected to Frist's UC request for the Froeign Relations committee to meet today. Frist withdrew his request..
Lugar wants Biden to act and agree 'in good faith'.
Is Lugar sane? Biden and the Dems will just look for another way to sink the nom. If it did get out today, they would filibuster it before a floor vote.
Why don't the Pubbies fight????
[Unbelievable!]
LUGAR just said "business meeting" ???????
I'm not
I AM TICKED OFF!!!!
Looks like the Luger-lovin' was for nothing. He caved.
How embarrassing.
Round goes to Dems!
the Democrats are SETTING THE TERMS to Lugar!
Biden
"Hey, if there is nothing there in the 10 requests or complaints at the State Dept and such and other allegations are no big deal, It's nO big deal, Right?"
What a sham and what a shame.
Committee adjourned.
Majority? What majority?? You think Voinovich and Chafee are clearly on our side???
DID LUGAR JUST SAY "WE'LL TRUST EACH OTHER???"
OH YOU GOTTA BE S$!%ING ME!!
THey're going to delay this for ANOTHER TWO WEEKS!!?!?!
Biden couldn't wipe the smirk off his face and was in a huge hurry to get away from that table
OK, I thought he had the votes, maybe I was wrong. Thanks for the other perspective.
So now we have two weeks to give the linguine spined RINOs an earful.
Correct
Senator Lugar is not in control of this committee, he walked from the Ag Com to take a job which he is not qualified to do.
I blame Lugar for this sad, horrid piece of committee-chairmanship. He should step down immediately, he is unfit to lead!
Boxer laughing it up after the meeting is adjourned. Unbelievable. I quit.
I'm at work and haven't been able to follow this whole thread. In fact, I didn't pay much attention to the news over the weekend. I assumed Bolton was going through fine.
Here's the thing - I saw an article in this thread about Bolton's accuser. Well, while I wasn't in that hotel in Moscow at the time of the alleged problem . . . I was certainly involved with these people, especially Melody.
I worked for the company that put her over there. In fact, I would have given her some of her training before she left. The money went through me. I didn't know Bolton was our lawyer or was in Moscow for us or anyone else.
I do know the NY Sun article doesn't have the details of her stay in the CIS correct. I haven't had a chance to look elsewhere to see what others or her are saying about her time there. Black, Manafort wasn't involved, I'll tell you that.
Having been fairly involved in our contractors' travel, problems, etc., I certainly don't remember her complaining about any of this at the time. I'm trying to jog my memory and those of my former co-workers, but talk about something not smelling right. Yuck.
