Why post that?
Bad enough someone made that, why demean her on FR?
We don't need that crap here.

"Words have specific meanings" "

Agreed. She is a "polemicist" in the true Greek meaning of the word (it means "combatant"). She combats with her words. That is fine. That appeals to certain segment of people.".

Excellent analysis. I only need to add that what makes her insults so devastating is that they're true. Sen. Kennedy is a drunk. His driving did lead to a woman's death. Radical Islamicists are ignorant murderers who are stuck in the Middle Ages. Democrats have advocated treasonous positions and policies. Nothing is more cutting than an unpleasant truth that everyone is trying to hide. She shouts these truths and makes them humorous. Not that she's perfect--sometimes her cuts are petty and personal. But that's the other subtext--she, like Rush, is imitating the Left's modus operandi and using it against them.

As a lover of truth, I love her polemicism.

Hmm, what am I forgetting? Oh, yes:

The minute I saw the picture of Ann Coulter on the Time Magazine it reminded me of the image of Clinton on Esquire.

The difference is Clinton's picture is saying here it is come get it, and Ann's picture says off limits.

Laura, on the other hand, comes from a lawyer background

A portion of Ann Coulter's bio:

Coulter is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a popular syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including Hannity and Colmes, Wolf Blitzer Reports, At Large With Geraldo Rivera, Scarborough Country, HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, The O'Reilly Factor, Good Morning America and has been profiled in numerous publications, including TV Guide, the Guardian (UK), the New York Observer, National Journal, Harper's Bazaar, and Elle magazine, among others. She was named one of the top 100 Public Intellectuals by federal judge Richard Posner in 2001.

Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates.

After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion.

A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review.

What were you saying?

"I considered Allen, but don't feel like I know enough about him. I like Jeb or the VP, but don't feel they have a chance in '08. Jeb because of his last name, and the VP because of his heart. "

So, you think Jeb won't get the 51% his brother got because of the same last name? I don't believe that. For the President, Americans vote for the most trustworthy, appealing candidate. To me, that's Jeb.

VP Cheney would have a good chance too. He cannot be flustered or rattled. He's always calm and remeasuring and he's a straight shooter. He won't run unless Pres. Bush specifically asked him to run. The heart condition will be used by the Dem's against him, but it won't have traction with the US populace.

I have those exact same shoes, but I never considered wearing them with Alice In Wonderland tights.

I'm not convinced those are tights. I think they're white silk stockings. The photographer used a goofy angle to make her look like a little girl. Possibly to insinuate she's out of her league trying to play with the grown ups.

Can anyone read what the cover says about her?

"Fair and Balanced she isn't. This conservative flamethrower enrages the left and delights the right. Is she serious or just having fun?"

I remember them saying similar things about Carville, Maher, Thomas. Yeah, sure I do. /sarcasm

Hmmm, what are the odds that you--you of all people--would post an Ann Coulter thread :)

I can't see any of the pics in #2, but I assume one of them is my favorite:

Time should've used this for the cover--they'd sell a bajillion copies.

"Talk radio is only the beginning. Electronic populism threatens to short circuit representative democracy."

Funny, it's yet another example of the leftists "projection."

It's the leftists who are steadfast against "representative democracy." Given the fact that they can't seem to advance their ideology at the ballot box, they run to the courts to impose it, against the will of the electorate. Anybody else here remember when we were told that the voters of America were having a "temper tantrum?" The sheer level of disdain that the "elite" have for those of us who aren't members of their clubs is truely astounding. Those words assure us that they simply don't trust us (the electorate) to make decisions on our own. Which explains nearly all of the left's agenda, as well as their methods.

Mark

Cheney's too sick to run.
Jeb lost out when he let Terri die.

That leaves Rudy or someone else who may not even be on the radar screen now. Thank God we have a little time.

I canceled my AOL for the same reason (it is owned by Time-warner). I recommend everyone to end AOL subscriptions or or any other Time-Warner product, and tell them why.

[ I find her style unsophisticated - I mean I agree with what she says but it seems to me she thinks she needs to dumb down the discussion/issues for her readers. ]

She does need to do that...
Coulter is the leanest meanest RINO exposer of all..
If she talked good English, RINOs would miss the content for the delivery..

I LOVE Laura's program--it's second to none when it comes to wit. but Ann's writing style is second to one when it comes to wit.

Sorry. There is another.
