I know a number of conservative young people who are turned off by Ann's edgeAnd as a young conservative, I think those who believe as such are a bunch of dorks.

I think all three are great Americans and I watch listen, or read any of them whenever I can.

I find her style unsophisticated - I mean I agree with what she says but it seems to me she thinks she needs to dumb down the discussion/issues for her readersMany here will not agree with you, but you are spot on. I have all of her books and enjoy them, because her points are usually (not always) valid, and prefer to finish a book at 1 or 2 sittings if possible. She makes that possible.
But as for sophisticated and in depth writing, Ann cannot hold a candle to Mona Charen.

I have several pair of shoes like that. If the heels aren't too high they can be relatively comfortable for a few hours. But they look fabulous. LOL.

I can't read through this thread to find out, got schoolwork to do. But if you haven't already, use www.bugmenot.com to get to the whole article on Time.com about Ann. I just finished it.

Geesh!! That picture reminds me of the Edith Ann character Ruth Buzzi used to play. Why do they have her dressed like a little girl? I have those exact same shoes, but I never considered wearing them with Alice In Wonderland tights.

You do realize you just described George Will as a turn on . . .

More seriously, it really does not read like a hit-piece. However, I also don't really think it gets far under her skin. He doesn't apparently ask what I think would have been more get-to-the-heart questions, probably because he can't.
These will be used to hurt her:
"most of what I say, I say to amuse myself and amuse my friends. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about anything beyond that."
Coulter told me that when her editor suggests cutting a line from a column to save space, "I'll ask him, 'But is it funny?' And if he says it's funny, I'll cut an actual fact [instead]."
As with Limbaugh, the best They can do is minimize her as a self-centered joker, no one to take seriously. Not like thoughtful, nuanced liberals, who really ought to be making the big decisions for us all.

"She advocated converting the Middle East to Christianity " Don't you get her humor? Don't you get scarcasm when you see it. You are not supposed to take everything word for word.

I heard Brit Hume call Ann a Conservative flamethrower quite awhile ago on his show. I'll bet Time Magazine stoled it from him.

Ann photographs so well yet this shot looks like she's a child sitting in a grown-up's chair.I don't like it either. However, Time couldnt put her on the cover AND put her on the cover with a flattering pic. Just imagine the internal fights they had when dicussing the possibility of putting her on the cover. If they put a hot pic there as well, the resignations would have been flying.
I'll buy this issue, first one I've purchased in years. And - I'll bet their newsstand sales will be one of the highest of the year. Their editors will take notice but, can't/won't bring themselves to change their anti-American ways.
