Astonishing But True! Replies to FR Poll on Potential POTUS

Posted on 04/16/2005 7:51:04 PM PDT by jla

"We know nothing really about her, but by God, Condi is our gal!" --- Anonymous Freeper

I've repeatedly asked here at FR for anyone to tell me *CONDI'S* stand on a number of issues ranging from economics to school prayer.
I have yet to receive one reply to my queries on where Miss Rice stands on a number of issues.

So can someone please tell me, especially you, Section 9, why I should be excited about a possible Condi Rice presidency run?

FYI: Miss R. in my opinion will prove to be an excellent Sec of State. But POTUS? Sorry, unlike a lot of Freepers my vote requires more than a cute smile or even worse, a fanatical appreciation of the Condi stare.

No wonder so many here can't seem to get behind Tom DeLay.

Thanks. I too thought the poll said, Which of the following presidential hopefuls would stand the best shot at defeating Hillary in '08?

I didn't think it was asking for OUR choice of candidate. If Condi runs against Hillary she'll clean Hillary's clock.

Well the poll is asking who you think would beat Hillary, not who you want as POTUS.

It's the same thing.

Exactly. Condi can't win the nomination with her "Soft Pro-choice" position.

I love her legs, but I require more information if I'm to ever consider her a POTUS candidate.

[W]ould you be as comfortable with Condi Rice in the Oval Office as you would be with Ronald Reagan?

I don't know yet. I think her jobs so far have prevented her from making a really strong stand in public on the issues that I care about. I like what I hear so far.

No it's not. Which is exactly what I pointed out in the next sentence which you carefully ignored. Good candidates and good office holders are not necessarily the same person, actually they are often not the same person since they require different skills.

Senator George Allen for President in 2008! Senator Allen spoke at our Oklahoma GOP Convention this morning and he was awesome. Sen Allen is a Social and Fiscal Conservative and a fantastic speaker.

How serious can this poll be when you have SoS Rice saying she's not interested; that fellar Cheny [sic] saying he's not running; and then someone like Tancredo who can't keep his mouth shut when he needs to, renegs on his 'term limit pledge' and expects to be taken seriously...

If you think that is all she has going, maybe you should educate yourself.

Glad to see George Allen came in 4th in this poll....seeing that he doesn't have the national exposure that some do.

He was my Governor here in Virginia and now my Senator.

Get to know him, he has what it takes!

"I believe Condi..That's my reason of believing she'd do well."...I suppose many can't get past the outward appearance of being a black female.

While I agree with you on the former statement...That last comment was uncalled for (ppl have a right to ???qualifications..we aren't in Red China/Cuba, Yet)....Sen. "SHEETS" Byrd, Is that you? ...Is $hrillary "the Red *itch" Klintoon with You? ..Dusty Reid?...Any Racist/Separatist "baiting" going on out there?

Yes, it is. Because Hillary is the de facto candidate of the Dems so any *poll* would be pitting a candidate against Madam H.

Exactly why President Clinton will be inaugurated in Jan. 2009.

If Soros really wants to his money to work he'll forget about the 527 groups and covertly support a 3rd party conservative candidate. It's too easy and obvious for them not to do it.

I'm not sure Condi would necessarily win, but she'd be a solid candidate because she'd take away the woman angle. By the same token she's never held elected office, never even run for anything and that's a big hit.
