I've repeatedly asked here at FR for anyone to tell me *CONDI'S* stand on a number of issues ranging from economics to school prayer.
I have yet to receive one reply to my queries on where Miss Rice stands on a number of issues.
So can someone please tell me, especially you, Section 9, why I should be excited about a possible Condi Rice presidency run?
FYI: Miss R. in my opinion will prove to be an excellent Sec of State. But POTUS? Sorry, unlike a lot of Freepers my vote requires more than a cute smile or even worse, a fanatical appreciation of the Condi stare.
No wonder so many here can't seem to get behind Tom DeLay.
She stated that she is mildly pro choice. That's like being mildly pregnant. You either are or you are not. She supports abortion. Nuff said.
He's espoused some conservative values, but if I had to put money on it I'd bet he voted for Kerry. I've known quite a few lifelong dems who actually have very conservative values, but they were raised to be dems so that's how they vote. Blacks are pretty tightly under the dems control right now, Kerry got around 90% of them, so chances are that included Bill Cosby (assuming he even voted, a suprisingly high number of celebs don't even bother).
Yet they are the first to gripe!

You have to read the comments in context. Condi said she was against partial birth abortion, but in discussing abortion, she indicated that she wouldn't ban it and was uncomfortable with federal government interference in this area. Some on this thread thought Condi meant the federal government and not state government.
Since Congress passed a ban against late term abortions, I was wondering if Condi felt that this was also a states' rights issue.
So does President Bush (in cases of rape, incest, and when the mother's life is in danger). Does that make him pro-choice too?
Which was immediately declared unconstitutional by a circuit court rendering such action mute. Dr. Rice's approach to turn that decision back to the states would at least allow for most states to ban it, though one or two would surely continue to allow it.
I thought the poll question asked : "Which candidate do you believe could defeat Hillary"?

Yes, when black politicians are perceived as just black players on a white guy's team. A black congressman here, a black mayor there, doesn't do much to get most blacks excited. A potential black POTUS would be completely different. The Dems know it, and they're scared. That's why they gave Condi the 3rd degree. They have to go after her, regardless of the potential fallout. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Don't believe it. Besides, the GOP should not use that rationale to nominate a candidate for POTUS who has never served in elective office. Just because the Dems will nominate Hillary, doesn't mean that we have to come up with a female candidate as well. I will reiterate, Condi is not considered black by the community, just a puppet or a "house slave" as Belafonte called her and Powell.

It is interesting to note that this was the greatest number of no votes for a Secstate nominee since Henry Clay. Hillary and Obama voted to confirm.

I don't think McVain's ego would let him take second seat, and I don't think the Donk machinery would quite let him go for first.

Don't believe he will run with Hillary because the Dims don't trust him either. Would love to see him in a debate with George Allen -- McCain would look the mean, nasty person he is while Senator Allen's articulate, witty, and common sense speaking would blow him away.
You know, Alan Keyes lost my support long ago due to his own insufferable, alienating egomania -- but I will never forget how deftly, easily and utterly he dismantled McInsane in their debate. McMeMeMe stood exposed as the shallow, pompous windbag you and I know him to be.

Exactly! As I was listening to Sen Allen speak at our Convention Saturday, I was sitting there chuckling to how fast he would dismantle McCain in a debate! Keyes was masterful in the debates with McCain -- it was a pleasure to watch.
Its pretty hard to get elected without graduating from Yale so Hillary has the upper hand there.
That is exactly right and something those who think a hard right turn by the GOP will gain votes consistently ignore.
We have a very small margin and driving it away will led to disaster.

Lack of elected experience puts her in the bag with Alan Keyes. She may be great but she's not electable.
