Sen. Hillary Clinton has been in politics long enough enough to know that polls can be misleading.
So she told us yesterday that, despite a recent survey that indicated only 68% of men would be willing to vote for a female president, she thinks the time is right.
"It depends on the woman," she said at the New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards luncheon yesterday at the Waldorf-Astoria. Indeed, the New York legislator may very well be that woman on the 2008 Democratic ticket.
Cristiane Amanpour agreed.
"I feel Americans will be ready to empower a woman."
And CBS' Lesley Stahl added, "It's always distressed me that in macho places in Europe and Asia the parliamentary system can produce women prime ministers but somehow our system can't manage that."
Oprah Winfrey exclaimed: "That's about how women see other women. Do we see ourselves as capable and strong? I'm going to have to change this!"
And you know that she will.
Hillary must NOT become President.
Hillary could not keep her husband in line... how on earth would she govern a country?
In which alternate universe does she think she could get elected president? CONDI 2008!!!
fuhggetaboutit.
hitlery is NOT going to be president.
however, maybe we should be encouraging her nomination.. kept the WH in repub hands for the next generation.

Oh well, if these three say it it must be so. NOT!
CONDI is NOT running! And said as much so many times!
Please refrain from making this discussion about whether this country is ready for a woman president. Of course there are women capable of being president. That's never been the issue with Clinton, but she will try to make it one of her many campaign distractions anyway: The Christian Right hates her because they seek to subjugate women
I beg your pardon?
"The Christian Right hates her because they seek to subjugate women"
You've confused Christians with Muslims...
The left leaning MSM elites are 'conditioning' the American public to 'crown Queen Hillary'....YUCK!
They will never tell us that Hillary means socialism, secularism, gobalism; and less security for America!
she could win. mostly because we don't have a solid well known candidate ready to go for 2008. and this attempt by the white house to constantly rehabilitate the Clintons - tsunami relief, the papal funeral, etc - is crazy politically.
Give her time.....she'll come around and realize that the country needs her.
Beware this tack. It could easily turn into a men vs. women thing during the next election - and couple that with the # of wussie limp wristed men out there - she'll horn her way in.
What poll was that?
Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton
Don't think so. I think she has her eye on a better prize. Something she loves!
