SEN. CLINTON: LIBERAL LIONESS - (more on Hillary's studied make-over move to the center)
WASHINGTON TIMES ONLINE.COM ^ | APRIL 12, 2005 | Editorial Staff

Mrs. Clinton's path to moderation represents a triumph of spin over reality.

Mrs. Clinton witnessed how her husband was twice elected president as a self-described "new Democrat." Seeking to re-invent her liberal image for 2008, she clearly knows that American voters have repeatedly rejected authentic liberals like herself. She no doubt remembers what happened to Hubert Humphrey in 1968, George McGovern in 1972, Walter Mondale in 1984, Michael Dukakis in 1988 and John Kerry in 2004.

So, Mrs. Clinton's political handlers understandably want to soften her hard-earned liberal credentials. Beyond the impeccably liberal record she has established in decades of work as an activist, there is the rather large matter of her Senate voting record.

Americans for Democratic Action (ADA), which proudly describes itself as the nation's "premier liberal lobbying organization," gave Mrs. Clinton a score of 95 percent for her 2004 votes. It was the fourth year in a row Mrs. Clinton achieved that high score. Mrs. Clinton is nearly indistinguishable from Ted Kennedy, the Senate's liberal lion.

"But don't take just ADA's word on it. The American Conservative Union, which is to the political right what ADA is to the left, gave Mrs. Clinton, like Mr. Kennedy, a score of 0. Mrs. Clinton also achieved a 100 percent score for the 108th Congress (2003-2004) from NARAL Pro-Choice America and a 0 score for the 108th from the National Right to Life Committee. Declaring herself to be a moderate doesn't make it so."

After the sound drubbing they got in the last election, all Liberals are twisting in the wind. She is the most visible and her particular permutations are getting the most play because she is their heir apparent for the next national election. She, though, is not perceived (neat trick) as twisting in the wind but rather is seen to be 'moving to the center'. Call it what you want, cut it up any way you want, they are RUNNING SCARED, and HER more than any of them. She has NO PLAN and is as confused and at the mercy of events as the rest. See, if Liberals could present anything palatable for American voters, then they would not forever have to react to events every five minutes. When you are objective ...you act, when you are subjective...you react. The Liberals are lost in the void and featureless desert they created by shooting down and defaming ALL the traditions and values of American voters. But, Evita certainly has plans for America, she just does not know how to get past the voters and into the WH. It's almost pathetic to watch. Just like a jelly fish, poke it anywhere and the whole organism reacts...that party is truly in shambles.

Declaring myself to be tall dark and handsome doesn't make it so either.

I was thinking of the same quote that's under Hitlery pic. Her infamous quote in San Francisco in June 2004 about taking money away for the common good. What was and is still surprising is that audience loved her for it. Eeow!

No.

The didn't say a word about Kerry's liberal voting record in the Senate. Not a word. They just criticized anyone who dared to mention the topic as a mean-spirited Republican attack dog. They plan to do the same thing again with hillary. As in the last election, she will get all the free media publicity, all favorable, and she will also get more advertising dollars from folks like George Soros. It will be up to forums like FR to help get the word out about Saul Alinsky and Suha Arafat and senate voting records. I suppose Web Hubbell and Vince Foster and White House travel office and 900 FBI files are too "paranoid" to be mentioned.

If Hillary became President then within her first months taxes would skyrocket, welfare and social programs would run everything, and there would be no such thing as an individual just the common good.

If Hillary does get elected with a demacratic house, then god help us all. Our new english text books will be Karl Marx's communist manifesto.

Don't let this woman fool you she is the same old Hillary saying what she thinks will get her elected in 2008.

If Hillary made a hard right it would still be too far to the left of center to be moderate anywhere . . .

What a marvelous posted reply, "Smarty." I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. Your remarks help ease my fluttering heart at the mere whisper of something so grotesque as "President Hillary Clinton." I hope 24/7 that she won't even get the nomination in '08, let alone have a crack at getting back into OUR White House. She did enough damage during her first 2 terms as co-president. The idea that she and her sidekick could return to another potential 2 terms is beyond chilling. Everything possible must be done by those of us who see this danger clearly, to prevent such an occurrence.
