Prayers for TexasCowboy!
TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.
Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.
So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.
Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!
Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.
Thank you, Nan, for that verse. It keeps me going when times get rough.
I had that verse firmly in my mind when I had my last x-ray to see if the tumor has shrunk from the radiation.
The doctor told me on the telephone the next day, "The tumor has shrunk."
I turned my eyes toward Heaven and said, "Thank you, Dear Sweet Lord!"
I've been very busy the last week keeping appointments and setting up new appointments.
I have an appointment next Tuesday with the oconologist to set up the start of the chemical treatments called Luken II.
This is not chemo as nomally known.
Chemo kills the "T" cells; Luken promotes the tremendous expansion of "T" cells.
The first hill to climb is that UCLA will take me in the trials, and the second hill to climb is that the treatment will destroy the cancer.
I have faith in my Almighty Healer.
I have an appointment next Thursday with the oconologist/orthopedist to plan for the repair of the femor. The bone will be cut off until good bone is reached and a metal pin and ball will be inserted.
Since the tumor is vascular, it will be disturbed as little as necessary, depending on the Luken II treatment to destroy it later.
The ocologists want the leg fixed before I start on the Luken II treatment.
My biggest problem right now is the eruption of radiation burns. As some of you probably know, there is no good treatment for them.
They erupt from the inside long after the radiation treatments are finished, and I pray for comfort from the pain.
Folks, the many posts on this thread simply blow my mind.
Your prayers mean so much to me.
If I don't get to post much it doesn't mean that I'm not reading your posts to me. I'm reading and praying and fighting this battle.
Thank you, dear FRiends, and may the Good Lord bless you.
It is so great to hear from you Cowboy! Keep the faith - we are all continuing our prayers and you are in our thoughts all the time............
Did y'all see this?
Best ping I've "pung?" in a long time...... ;^)
It is absolutely WONDERFUL to hear from you, TC! And to hear that you are forging ahead so beautifully. Got to hand it to you, I honestly think you're have more gumption and tensile strength than any other patient I've ever known. And as you know, I've known a few. Just WOW.
Truly wish that you'd been spared having radiation burns, but I know you'll get through those too.
I'll alert our mutual, non-FReeper pals about your progress. Every one of us is praying for you each day. Aaaand, we'll continue till you're safe and sound in Texas.
Maybe even beyond that if you're good.
Lotsa hugs,
Me
I won't get in yer way then sir..
My prayers and thoughts and Texas resiliance are with you my good friend.
You done goldbrickin' yet?
What wonderful news about the tumor shrinkage.
Prayers for you in your battle.
Ping-a-ling to another post by The Cowboy!
TC....we love you. A whole lot. And we're all praying, without ceasing, for you.
I had never heard of these radiation burns as a side effect of the radiation treatment. That sounds simply awful. Why aren't you getting adequate pain medication?
After I had abdominal surgery, I was swallowing something like 24 Vicodine a day. Made me goofy but at least the pain was manageable.
I think you understand how much you're in our thoughts and prayers every day, TC. We look forward to every update from you.
Hugs and prayers!

Thanks BG for the ping.
Prayers continue....
Ping to #2,961....!!
And you haven't taken the antidote yet!
Fabulous progress report, TC! That tumor is on its way down to mini-miniature size and on its way out from there. Hallelujia and God be praised!
You're going to be in the medical record books very soon when that Luken II makes you well in about five minutes. The scientists will credit the drug, of course, and we'll all give credit to the good Lord who loves you more than you can imagine.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
