The MSM definition of a "moderate" is Stalin.

I'm a moderate. I'm against hanging liberals with hemp ropes - it's cruel.

Sisal. That's the trick.

I thought a moderate was someone who accepts anything printed in the New York Times at face value.

There are two kinds of moderates. Those who beieve the lies of the left on domestic issues and those who believe the lies of the left on international issues.

Can someone please explain to me what a moderate is, in political terms? Most Americans are able to agree on the general attributes of liberals and conservatives, but what constitutes a moderate?

Depends who is defining it. The MSM defines someone who has 90% core liberal values and 10% conservative values, a 'moderate', with the exception no one who is pro-life is ever a moderate. If Ted Kennedy for some odd reason became pro-life, he would be a 'conservative' by the MSM definition.

Mom catches her little boy playing with himself in the bathroom.
Mom says "You keep doing that you'll go blind !"
Boy thinks a minute and says "Can I do it until I need glasses?"

Little boy is a moderate.

Someone with no convictions.

With one and only one exception: All moderates are convinced that abortion should always and everywhere be legal and readily available.

what constitutes a moderate?

A Liberal is a person who doesn't need a MSM poll to verify his or her stupidity. A moderate is a Liberal that needs a MSM poll before demonstrating his or her stupidity.

Naw, just light the hemp rope on fire just before. They're going up in a puff of smoke so to speak.

Can you say that anyone who isn't a Conservative is a Liberal regardless of what they want to call themselves?

There are also self-proclaimed "moderates" who actually agree with the conservatives on many things but have been brainwashed into believing that conservatives are meanspirited, closeminded, and bad, and therefore won't use the word and will admit to agreeing with conservatives only if cleverly pinned down in private conversation. I know quite a few of this type of "moderate."

Can someone please explain to me what a moderate is, in political terms?

Someone with little (or no) deep convictions who tests the political winds before making ANY public statement on a sensitive issue!

A moderate is someone who is able to see BOTH sides of an issue and cannot commit to EITHER side.

That's because they would topple off their perch on their fence and rip themselves a 'new one' from that picket up their butts.

I don't think I agree with that. There are various issues in the political landscape. You can be conservative on some and liberal on others. Say anti-abortion but also anti Death Penalty. Against Affirmative action but for Public education. There are all sorts of combinations. There are anti-abortion people who believe anyone who isn't with them on that core issue is not conservative no matter how small they want the government to be.
