Wait a minute, was it that the voters rejected an anti-gay-marriage ban amendment, or did the voters approve a resolution preventing an amendment that would ban the illegalization of gay marriage?

The voters have passed an amendment that defines marriage to be between a man and a woman, and forces the state to not recogize any other.

huh?

The amendment prohibits gay marriage and civil unions.

Kansans voted for this prohibition to be Constitutionally enshrined.

Don't know why he was confused; the lede in the story made that abundantly clear.

recogize = recognize

That's what I get for clicking that little box that says, "I have already previewed or do not wish to preview this composition."

Thanks for that info. Seems to me only two of those states were blue states in 2004 - Hawaii and Michigan. I don't know that we can assume that all 50 states will pass it - but I'd be surprised if it were less than 45 of 'em.

I noticed the same subtle spin in that headline also.
I just hope that most Americans are discerning to their spin and lies, and games, and won't let them get away with that anymore.
Thank GOD for the NEW MEDIA.

But, can you see were they are believing their own lies and propaganda ?
And are contorting themselves into knots by their conterdicitng statements ?
No wonder they are imploding, their foundation has been built out of a house of cards, built on sinking sand in a CAT-5 hurricane.
Their foundations are nothing but lies and deceit.
They are contorting themselves into knots.
For example ?
Their comments in the reason why that movie Alexander was a flop and failed .
( I don't remember were that one article is here in FR about what the Gays and the Libs has to say about that movie , I am going by memory here ).
They said, that the movie was a flop and failed because the average ( most Americans, I need to make that point ) or most Americans are not " READY INTELLECTUALLY " or " ARTISTICALLY ASTUTE " for the movie.
That is amazing ? isn't it ?
For example ? what is it that we have been hearing lately ( or probability for decades ) from the Liberal/DEMS/GAYS talking points and propaganda lately ? " This is in live of what most Americans believe and want " .
Just amazing and incredible, isn't it ?
They speak with fork tongues ( that is no surprise anyway, if you were to look at WHOM they are influenced by ).
If you were to look at both example of what the liberals and the gays are saying, those statements are contradicting themselves.
I just hope, that, that the rest of America, and the " NEW MEDIA " and the Republicans/Conservatives are picking up on this, and are very discerning of their deceit and lies.
I am sure RUSH makes hay out of their lies and hypocrisy.

It will probably be about 75% when all the rural districts check in. I'm looking forward to all the editorials and letters in the local papers telling us how stupid and bigoted we are. The paper I read most has had about 5 editorials a week urging defeat of the amendment, along with several letters a day.

Good for Kansas!

I believe we are beginning to see a backlash against the Will-and-Grace anything-goes crowd.

How can a constitutional amendment be overturned by judges???

Ask a Californian about Prop 22, which passed with over 60% support Statewide only to have some fathead judge declare it "unconstitutional".

Judges make these rulings for the same reason that dogs lick their butts -- because they can.

Prop. 22 was actually a statute. If we fail to get Judge Kramer's ruling overturned, we'll push for a constitutional ban on same sex marriage and I expect it to pass with 60% of the vote.

The vote is not reflective of the typical Kansan, said Steve Brown of Prairie Village, a member of Kansans for Fairness, a group that worked to defeat the amendment.

Yes it is.

I just spent the last nine years in KC.

If anything, I'm surprised it got 29% against.
