Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life Statement on Terri Schiavo's Death

4/5/2005 8:35:00 AM

NEW YORK, April 5 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In response to the criticism some have voiced to his statements that Terri Schiavo's death was a murder, Fr. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement this morning:

"Yes, Murder.

"Terri Schiavo was in fact murdered by being deprived of food and water for 13 days. The reason Michael Schiavo's attorney George Felos was so upset that I said this is because he is a euthanasia advocate, and the only way to advance euthanasia is to sugar-coat it, and never call it murder. But it is. Moreover, it is inaccurate to describe Terri Schiavo's death as peaceful and gentle. I was with her for several hours the night before she died and again the next morning up until ten minutes before she died. She was in an agony unlike anything I have ever seen, and to describe it in any other way is irresponsible and dishonest.

"As for Mr. Felos' plea that I speak words of compassion and reconciliation, I have indeed done so publicly over recent months. But compassion does not mean compromising the truth, and reconciliation is possible only when one repents of doing evil acts like killing. The role of a priest, moreover, is not simply to make people feel good, but to denounce injustice and proclaim truth, no matter how discomforting it may be."

Probably the Wicked Witch from Wizard of Oz who cried, "I'm me-e-e-elting!" Water was hateful to her.

The Terri Schiavo hit--ultimately John Gotti lost his Teflon, was covered with Velcro, all the charges stuck.

You have a ping list? I am surprized.

"Never put an innocent or honest person to death. I will not allow anyone guilty of this to go free." Exodus 23:7

I don't know why you're surprised?

""Never put an innocent or honest person to death. I will not allow anyone guilty of this to go free." Exodus 23:7"

Someday, there will be a higher authority that Terri Schiavo's murderers will have to face!

Thank you. However, I got flamed over it by an irate FReeper.   She called God giving that woman a glass of water...hate.

We heard harsh criticism of judges tonight at Terri's Memorial Service.

As far as the rest of the service: no mention of Schiavo or Felos.

When Pavone mentioned anything about judges, he got standing O's. Even an altar boy popped up when Father Pavone said that there's only one true Judge.

Fr Frank's message is quite blunt -- you cannot fight the Culture of Death and be polite.

Blunt and clear is what we must have.

No. All by a few FReepmails. I'm not going to publicly post her name.   Yes it is unbelievable.   If I were a senior living in a hospice, or under some health care quack, and because of now established case law, I'd be scared to death.   Anyway, I'm sure hope my ex FReeper friend won't be sleeping very well tonight.

What a mass. I was kinda close to the front. The music was guitars, keyboard, contemporary. Terri's sister's husband sang a solo too. It was great. Terri's niece read from Romans from the podium. I admire all of them.

I love Father Pavone because he always calls a spade a spade. Truth-speaker that he is, Pavone will always irk people like Felos by drawing the public's attention to the facts.

Theresa Marie Schiavo was murdered on the order of her husband and a judge, with the advice and consent of Felos and many other Florida officials

It was a cruel and brutal death, no matter how the NY Times and other media try to soft-pedal it.

Ask the survivors of the Nazi death camps if starvation and dehydration are painful. Ask the survivors of the Bataan Death March.

Father Pavone is a man of courage and truth. We need a few thousand more like him.

I was with you in spirit, tried to be a little bit. They did a sound byte of the singing on the radio news, and that must have been her sister's husband. It sounds like it was comforting.

Did they record the mass?
