Florida's Department of Children and Families had received nearly 90 allegations that Michael Schiavo had abused his wife in recent years - but a Florida judge ruled yesterday that DCF summaries of those allegations must remain secret.

WE do have the right to know, Greer is re-creating law or at least how the laws on the books can be used to dispose of those people like Terri Schiavo by those people like Michael Schiavo, regardless of the wishes of her own flesh and blood and family.
Judge Greer made Terri Schiavo the sole property of her husband even though he had abandoned her to a death house and found a new wife to give him a family.
Why should we have the right to know, because it could happen to any of us as well.
bump!
You wrote--> True, but like everything else, that request was also thrown out. (If I remember right, the Schindlers lawyers filed too late on their request. But, whatever happened, they made the request and it was denied.)""
I've read many posts that have said Gibbs, the lawyer for the Schindlers wouldn't allow great lawyers, like Jay Sekulow to help, early on. I've read that Gibbs was not competent. I hope the truth comes out about Gibbs. Does anyone know how long Gibbs has practiced law in Florida??
Gibbs has a law office in Ohio. In the same city that the tie breaker Doctor came from. It's Cleveland, Ohio. Did they know one another. I'm just asking. I have no idea of what is going on. I don't understand. The doctor from Cleveland, Ohio was a big part of signing Terri's death execution. What the blank is going on???
If anyone knows please respond!!
I dont have the right to know any more than you do. If you dont want this happening to you, them make sure it doesnt. Talk to your family and be sure the person who has the legal authority to pull the plug understands precisely what you wishes are. Otherwise, the state will make the decision. Not your parents, not your friends, the state.
It doesnt matter to the state whether or not the marraige was a good one. It doesnt matter that her parents had different thoughts than the husband. The state was following the rules set forth in the state, by the state.
I feel horribly for her and her parents. But unfortunately, they did not have a say. Because thats the way the state felt it was appropriate.
When I read the court documents-not the interperetation of a left or right wing view of them--but the real documents, I get a very different view. They paint a different view of Michael, of the money, and of the parents.
You and I may disagree, but we should all learn from this and take appropriate measures to ensure it doesnt happen to US. I dont trust the state to do anything for me. And I would be G-damned if anyone other than those I specify to take care of me have any business at all picking over my records or my bones.
While Terri's admission to hospice was almost certainly illegal, I really must ask: what is the provenance of that document? An internet-posted scan of a document put forth by someone claiming the document genuine can easily prove that either the document is fake or the person putting forth the scan is a liar (if someone posted a "scan" of the Declaration of Independence that precisely matched the letterforms and spacing of Zapf Chancery, that wouldn't prove that the document was fake--merely that the scan was). What an internet-posted scan cannot do is prove a document genuine.
Therefore, I must ask what is the provenance of the supposed "admissions document" and how may it be confirmed?
I agree 100% with your view. I also think it was an incestuous clique between doctors, lawyers, judges, hospice, DCF, Sheriff, and MC. Checking the backgrounds of them all is a window into their actions and decisions.
I would love to see the Justice Dept. institute an investigation into Medicare fraud at the hospice. That could easily suck all the players into the investigation. The House could also start hearings on why their subpoena was ignored. That could also include all the players. The DCF definitely needs to be investigated, especially at the top. This is the same group who in the past lost a foster kid and put others into homes of abusers. In this case they refused to investigate abuse. Probably for the reason you said, a decision was made early and all after that was to streamline its implementation.
I remember a comment to Sean Hannity by one off the nurses who cared for Terri. She said while she was in court during any testimony against the status quo, Judge Greer not only wouldn't listen to it but he rudely had idle chitchat with the MC attorneys while it was taking place.
He added, "All I did was strangle her. If I broke her femur pinning her down with one knee and broke her back with my other knee while I was choking her, that's her fault for spending eighty bucks getting her hair done -- can you believe it, eighty dollars!"
The Schindlers had attorneys before Gibbs, too. By the time it got to Gibbs, the findings of "fact" were already done. In fact, one Schindler attorney (before Gibbs) actually agreed in court that Terri was PVS! Not much the Schindlers could do after that!
I have not checked where they received their degrees, but that wouldn't help either -- they could have graduated at the bottom of their class. Or maybe they were adequate but only allocated a few hours due to the Schindler finances and that the attorneys themselves may not have cared.
Didn't know that Gibbs wouldn't ALLOW Jay Sekulow to assist, but I'm not surprised. Many lawyers don't like to be second-guessed -- they want to be the "expert" on the team.
However, I DID read the federal briefs that were submitted relative to the Act that Congress passed. The first (Gibbs') was TERRIBLE and even your first year judge would have denied it. He entirely missed the boat. The last round of apppeals (which were prepared WITH Jay Sekulow's assistance) were very well written, but by then the federal courts probably felt "over-appealed."
I want to know so it is not done to me or anyone in my family.....
That's why this is so important.
Thank you. Let the memory of her be etched into our hearts.
I know .. but the doctors were saying that even though she had her eyes open and smiled when her mother came in - she was really unconscious.
If people buy that they are deceived.
I agree - starvation is not a natural cause of death.
But starving and dehydrating her to death, well, that's another story. Heck, I did that to my own parents and you can imagine how much I loved them.!!
Some of the analysis is done under a microscope and involves viewing sections of brain tissue.
There must be a Congressional investigation into this!
How can the files be forced open?
So he abused her while she was immobile?
I agree with you there. The appeals courts only could do what they did with what they had to work with. The problem wasnt the judiciary, it was that the Schindlers most important lawyering (early on) had to be done on the cheap. later on they had lawyers that were as intersted in using Terri for their own purposes as they were in saving her.
