My opus from FR? Not.
04/01/2005 | Sender

Posted on 04/01/2005 5:17:45 PM PST by Sender

Some long-time valuable posters have announced their opus to leave FR today. Well I don't. This is my family, this is my home. I may have serious disagreements with other posters and may occasionally be discouraged at the direction FR is heading. But I am not a quitter. I am staying right here, right where the center of the action is, and I will never quit. So what if others post offensive comments or views? It's a free country. Anyhow, I'm not leaving, and there is no opus. I'm ready to take on the 21st century and drag it kicking and screaming over to our side. Long live the bastion of news and free speech, Free Republic!

here is it after proof reading

My Opus to WarmNFuzzy.com

I have had it with this site, warmNFuzzy stands for NOTHING if it is going to allow ANYONE to reply to me in an unWarmNFuzzy fashion. What the hell is gong on here? Why aren’t the moderators pulling posts that disagree with my articulate, well thought out perfect in every fuzzy way posts. Someone needs to wake the owner of this site up, before an open free wheeling debate happens! But I won’t see it, because I am a real WarmNFuzzy person not a Fuzzy In Name Only and I am leaving, you so called Fuzzies, would not recognize a real WarmNFuzzy if it laid down in front of you and said “come on big boy have some fuz”.

I am also Fuzmailing my FuzzyFriends and we are all going to get the Fuzz out of this Fuzed up site, “Fuzz you” to fuzzing all that like this site.

PS. I have been a Fuzzy for a long time, so my lose will be so great that WarmNFuzzy will fizzle without me.

The Fonz

You're suppose to say I've been a warmNFuzzy for a long time and I lurked for ten years before I signed up.

We have found a flaw in the subsystem module that controls vanity eradication and now have a proliferation of Opies.

Why are so many in the dumps? IMO it's the helplessness in trying to save Terri for another look at the facts.

When you consider the totally corrupt court system it's no wonder.

But I have hope and we are still on track but sometimes we expect too much, too soon.

I'm especially pleased with the House, W most of the time, and the Senate almost never (but still, we own them somewhat).

America's biggest enemy is the Judicial branch.

Delay has taken them on and we're in for an interesting year. Delay is no loser.

All things considered, the last 10 years are on track.

Statist-RINOs who are also FROBLS are "valuable?"

To whom??

These same statist rinos laughed at TLBSHOW and Fred Mertz and all the other good freeper who were banned or left during the great non-RINO purge. They thought it was great when the "nutcase" Constitutionalists were banned or pulled some stupid opus.

They had the born agains on their side. The "patriot" act - born agains thought it was a great idea just like the rabid Bushies (of which I am one, I just see the PA as a bad idea). The rest of the two footed law enforcement ideas - great! Legal "reform" born agains thought it was great, just like the mods and "Bushies". Now the sect that depends on Jerry Falwell to interpret the Constitution has reached critical mass. They don't need the pseudo-RINOS anymore. Freerepublic is making a huge change. It started with the 2000 election, then 9/11, then the faceless unaccountable Mods, and now Terri put it over the top.

I am totally Christian, and a rabid Bush supporter but I also believe that our forefathers were touched by God when they wrote the Constitution. We need to let it be timeless and not let the opinions of the moment destroy it. That used to be a strong minority opinion here. No more.

P.s.Even in its present state FR is the best on the internet.

Ridiculing them does not help things, in my opinion, given their stated reasons for leaving.

You replied to post #1 - are you implying the ridicule took place THERE? I don't see it.

As for ridicule, I don't think it ridicule to point out that a big opus and departure reminds me a lot of a long note and a suicide. It's a play for attention, and an attempt to extort guilt from the masses - and possibly a sign of instability. Most people who leave just quietly leave.

No, the ridicule took place later in the thread. While I wasn't close to Poohbah, he made hundreds of excellent posts during his stay here and I'll miss his contribution.

While I'll happily ridicule the newbie opus or the fruitcake opus, I have a different attitude about the oldtimer opus. First, I don't want to wonder what happened to them; why they disappeared. And secondly, it's a little like a funeral and a discussion thread as to whether their reasons were valid.

Is it selfish or egotistical to publish an opus? In most cases, probably. But FR was important to most of them and it's their way of cutting the cord. If they didn't mean something, they'd be completely ignored.

"Let them try posting on an unmoderated, totally free speech forum, chatboard or whatever and they will be begging to get back on FR."

I guarantee you, if I debated on FR like I do on Usenet, JR would ban me for life and probably the afterlife, too.

Of course, one does not run into booger-eating leftist morons on FreeRepublic like one does on Usenet.

Duly noted. That would probably be the only interaction with you that would *not* be pleasant.
