Do you want to make a change and see some justice? Congressman Tom DeLay said the House Judiciary Committee will be investigating Terri's case and making recommendations to the full house about any reforms that they believe are necessary in this debacle over Terri's life and death.
This thread is to brainstorm, and to report what contacts we have made and the results. Below is a link to the committee members.
Anyone who wants to help organize a ping list- SPEAK UP. We need someone to make a list of objectives and contacts.
This thread is for activism. If you are not interested in that - please move to a different thread. I am done with the flame wars.
This is for those who want action and want a change.
Please add me to your ping list! Thanks for pinging me to this!
Will call Frist, my congressman and my Senators. I will FAX the Zogby poll to each one of them as well.
And I will keep BUMPING for a WORTHY CAUSE!!!
Terri ping to 291! If anyone would like to be added to or removed from my Terri ping list, please let me know by FReepmail!
Let's not forget the Zogby national wide poll.
79% said that Terri should not have food & water taken away... only 9 % said yes..

Terri ping!
I called them. I encourage everyone else to do the same. If you don't speak up, you have no right to complain about the results.
If they don't listen, they don't have any right to complain about the results of that either.
Or send an email. You know the left is calling , posing as Conservatives even , and saying they agree.
So just consider that you are "nulling" out their vote..Activists judges need to be stopped and we are the only ones who can help our reps do the right thing.
Consider that this isn't just about Terri- this is about us. Why not try it.. it is fun!
Thanks for posting this thread. We must stop the abuse and murder of the disabled.
Here's a link to an article by Newt Gingrich. It's long but a good one. I'll post the relevant paragraphs about the judiciary below the link.

Let met talk briefly about judges, and then I am going to talk about education and immigration. The issue of judges is not a complex one. Its just a question of timidity. There is no judicial supremacy. It is an arrogation of the Warren Court in 1958, and has no historic precedent. Jefferson, when asked if there was judicial supremacy said that would be an oligarchy. Lincolns First Inaugural, in describing the Dred Scott decision of the Supreme Courtwhich extended slavery across the whole country, led Lincoln to run, and ultimately led to the Civil Warsaid we were not going to let a handful of judges redefine the American Constitution. It would be inconceivable.
So what do you do about it? Again, I am trying to embed this in historic fact. This is not theory. This is not ideology. This is fact. In 1802, the Jeffersonians, faced with courts deliberately packed by the Federalists, passed the Judiciary Act of 1802, which abolished over half of all the sitting federal circuit judges. The act didnt impeach them; it simply said their jobs didnt exist. They wouldnt be paid, so they shouldnt bother to show up. The judges were deeply offended. They promptly went to court, and the remaining federal judges essentially said, if we overrule the Congress, theyre going to abolish our jobs.
I cite this, because of the Ninth Circuit Court. We should just close the jobs of the two judges who said that it was unconstitutional to say, One Nation, Under God as part of the pledge. Lets just say, Terrific, youre now retired. I am citing this, because the first step to getting this done is to have people like you talk to your delegations, and then presently somebody will introduce a bill. Initially people will say that its very radical, but then as the courts behave more and more stupidly, people will get madder and madder. Finally, one morning well do it, and then the judges who are left will realize that maybe they dont want to be quite that bold.
This is a straight-out fight. The elected branches, the legislative and the executive, have every right to re-balance the judges under our Constitution. Remember, if you read The Federalist Papers, they refer to a division of power. Theres a balance between the three branches, so when the judges say that they are all powerful, the correct answer is, No, youre not. The only way you prove that is to have the legislative and the executive branches take steps to change them.
Senator John Kyl, for example, has a bill in Congress that would block the Supreme Court from even considering the Pledge of Allegiance. If Congress passes that bill, and the president signs it, I think the court is blocked. I think its clear under the Constitution that it is blocked. But if the court were to overturn that law, my next step would be to change the court. Again, that wouldnt be abnormal. The struggle for power between appointed lawyers and the rest of us has been going on for 200 years, and for the last 40 years, the lawyers have been on the offensive. Well, now its our turn.
I think you will find that over the next few years, the judges will increasingly be on the defensive. I dont know how many of you looked at the decision concerning whether or not the death penalty could be applied to someone under 18 years of age. It is amazing to read, because it is clear that the Supreme Court is saying that it actually doesnt have any grounds for this decision, but the justices have changed their minds. So, by 5-to-4, the Supreme Court has changed the rules of the United States, because the justices believed they could. But what is truly fascinating is that this particular decision represents another example of a recent phenomenon, which is citing non-American judges.
So you have the majority justices saying that they want to be like the European Union, which we dont. In one case they cite Zimbabwe. In other case, they cite Jamaica. I want to suggest to you two principles. Principle number one is we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, and if the Europeans want to give up their rights, or if Zimbabwe wants to suffer under a dictator, or if 19 nutty people in some other country do things, were not going to stop them. That doesnt in any way change American exceptionalism.
Its a very important argument were going to have to have over the next 10 or 15 years, because as the world has gotten smarter, as people see each other, our elites have grown timid. They dont like going to Davos and having lots of other people unhappy with them. They dont like visiting Paris, and having lots of people unhappy with them. We have to say to them that that is really unfortunate, but in fact their job on the Supreme Court is to defend and interpret the American Constitution, within American history, and not give us a lecture about the latest Russian jurisprudence.

God Love You! I wanted to do this, but being so new - did not know where to start!!! Wonderful!!!
Okay...homework beginning - perhaps a timeline first to show exactly as things happened to Terri - and add with that Florida Law as it stands. Then - we need to compare to precedents set elsewhere, other state law, etc.
I'm on it! I'll contact by FReepmail when I have a good start, and send it all to you in a word doc? Thanks, Diva! JK
Thank you for all of your hard work.
Everyone should read that post. Thank you for posting it here. It is one of the most informative things I have seen on FR in a long time.

Check your FReepmail. JK
Ping...Interested in getting involved? Pass this on please! Thanks, JK
Ping me. Already contacted my senators about judicial tyranny, not that I think it will do any good with mine, but I tried. I would love to know what else we can do.
Wonder if we could get Mark Levin to help us? Or am I dreaming.
Scientology link to Florida Department of Children and Families

From a March 30, 2003 St. Petersburg Times article:
"Narconon, a controversial drug treatment program based on techniques developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, has opened its first Florida facility in Clearwater in a commercial park off U.S. 19. Critics contend that Narconon -- a program now 37 years old with 11 treatment facilities nationally -- is a recruitment tool for Scientology. Narconon International president Clark Carr calls the charge "baloney," but concedes 10 to 15 percent who complete the program become Scientologists.
The director of the new Clearwater Narconon, Cheryl Alderman, a Clearwater resident and a longtime Scientologist, sank $100,000 of her own money into the venture and opened it quietly 10 months ago. She obtained a license from the state's Department of Children and Families to operate as an outpatient detox center. The program got a boost from Clearwater Mayor Brian Aungst, who issued a proclamation for "Narconon Day."
Now Alderman plans to do what no other Narconon program in the country does: Get taxpayer assistance in the form of state and federal grants. She also plans to seek referrals from local court systems and permission to teach a Narconon-based prevention program in Pinellas public schools. Pinellas County Commissioner Susan Latvala and Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judges Linda Allan and Linda Babb have toured the facility and left impressed. Pinellas Public Defender Robert Dillinger said he could envision courts sending offenders there.
That we expect him and the majority to confirm the president's nominees, by ending the partisan opposition's unconstitutional filibuster.
I followed up by putting these points into a fax to his office.
The judiciary relies upon Article III Section 1 for its existence, as it is ordained and established by congress. It is further recorded that we undertook this great experiment with the belief in the Creator-endowed unalienable right to life, something the judiciary decided Terri would do without.
We are the governed without whose just consent government derives no authority.
Shall we be lectured on our own constitution by the likes of Ted Kennedy DWI killer of Mary Jo Kopechne, Chuck Schumer punished with the largest ever fine by the FEC, Robert Byrd proud former-kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan?
No, and again, no.
