He's taking a hit now, but in the long run his long term plan for judicial reform will succeed providing we cease to undermine him.

Please, just do me a favor and spare me this garbage, it's revolting. He doesn't have any long term plan for judicial reform. He can't even muster up the cojones to recess appoint his own nominees that are being blocked in the Senate.

Everyone needs to understand something (though I doubt they will). At best, Bush could have delayed Terri's death and only done so at the cost of great political capital. Because he is subject only to the rulings of the Supreme Court, he could have sent federal marshals to enforce the reinsertion of the tube. At that point, the case would certainly have been accepted by the USSC, which most certainly would have ruled against Bush. So, Bush gets a bloody nose and Terri dies anyway.

I don't blame the President or Congress or the Governor of Florida, though I'm starting to wonder how it is that ANY Republican State Senator could have voted against saving Terri (some did). Arms should have been twisted off backs of GOP Senators in Florida if necessary.

With the Governor being the brother of the President, how did any Republican State Senator get away with voting against Terri? The political pressure necessary for legislation to save her was plainly missing. And the statements from Governor Bush and the President today were lacking.

Nonetheless, the executive power of the Governor was properly brought to force within its limits, so I don't blame Jeb there. That nonsense about storming the hospice and violating the court orders was ridiculous.

The posters who are attacking the President and Jeb Bush remind me of the liberal whiners who expect the government to fix everything. This is a representative democratic republic and it is up to us, the people to fix what is wrong with our government. The fault is with the courts.

Doing what you can for what you believe while not breaking the laws you swore to uphold should be applauded.

Exactly. You've got this exactly right.

Bombing Auschwitz would have been an act of insanity for the Allies. It would have killed hundreds or thousands of prisoners and would have done nothing to shorten the war or liberate the victims of Nazi horror.

If properly done, it would have destroyed the ovens and possibly allowed many to escape. As it was the troops of the western allies were not even informed that the death camps existed, they were flabbergasted when they found them. Auschwitz was in Poland, so it may have been "liberated" by the Russians, I just don't remember.

Pope Saint Gregory VII:
"There are in the world thousands of men who risk death every day at the summons of their lords. Yet, when the interests of the King of Heaven, our Redeemer, are at stake, how many Christians shrink, not from death only, but even from the hatred of other men. And the few ? thanks be to God for those few ? who dare to resist the wicked openly, and to face death, are not only unsupported by their brethren, but are accused by them of imprudence, and indiscretion, and are treated as fools...."

May God have mercy on us all.

Thnaks, but I have debated this topic for years.

Blaming FDR and Churchill for the Holocaust is madness.
It is yet another ploy of the blame-America-first crowd. Their revisionist arguments are shallow and do not stand under scrutiny.

Blaming the brave men who gave their lives in sacrifice for the liberation of Europe for the horrors committed by the regime which they destroyed makes my blood boil.

It is to spit on the grave of every allied soldier who gave his life to end the Nazi regime. It is also poor history.

Revisionism at its most vile.

Pyro," short not for "pyromaniac," but for "pyrotechnics."

That may be, but my experience is that pyrotechnic afficiandos have more than a bit of pyromaniac in them as well.... I know I do. :)

That nonsense about storming the hospice and violating the court orders was ridiculous.

History would beg to disagree. It worked pretty well with Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge. It was VERY effective against those down in Waco TX, and lets not forget the little Cuban kid, Elian.

The left fights with the attitude of a pack of rabid dogs, but they expect us to abide by "rules of war".

With all of the court decisions that have been coming down in the past few weeks, esp. the parental notification, I feel like we are circling the drain. Hail Caesar! Who will it be?

For those of you who are griping that the President discussed the Intelligence Report at this press appearance:

This was an already scheduled event for the formal receiving of this report. He did NOT go into the Intelligence Report as a way to avoid talking about Terri Schiavo! He ADDED remarks about her death!

For goodness sake, had he had this appearance and not said anything, some of you would be griping about that, too!

Tom DeLay released a very interesting statement, which I am going to see if I can post. I think Judge Greer and the federal judge should be very nervous.

"Extremism on any matter turns the majority off."

The religious don't act based on majority opinion.

Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

The Sheep and the Goats

31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45“He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Our country is unfortunately in these times not run by a benevolent monarch. We still are a nation of laws with three branches of gov.t.

No one said judicial reform will be easy. Please read MEN IN BLACK and get back to me on your thoughts.
AS you appear to be a smart person from your other postings here.
I think undermining the president and blaming him, or like this Michael Savage saying that this heralds the end of the Bush presidency etc etc is going to hurt us all.

We're all angry. We're going through mourning and with that we want to blame someone. Let's blame ourselves for allowing a system that allows for judges like Greer. Let's stop bashing our president and each other over this. Let's focus on what is important and maybe in that find a thread of something positive in this poor woman's death.
