Michael Schiavo Supporters on "Hannity & Colmes"
Hannity & Colmes Show | Just Now | Me

Posted on 03/29/2005 6:35:37 PM PST by ozzymandus

Did anybody catch the 2 Michael Schiavo "supporters" on H&C tonight? They were a couple of typical hippie-hags from the far left, who said they went to Florida to counter-demonstrate against the Terri Schiavo supporters, who they called "religious Nazis". Colmes grovelled and slobbered all over them, but Hannity's first question, directed to one of the hags, was, "What does that say on your shirt?". She replied, "Revolutionary Communist Youth League". Brilliant, Alan, just brilliant.

I could be way off here, but as someone who's been critical of how some conservatives have been handling this, I have to admit that in the last few days I am detecting a rapid lowering of the jubilation of the democrats. The Dems in congress did nothing to stop the Terri bill, and no prominent congressional leader has made a significant position statement. Kerry, Hillary, Edwards, all lawyers, have not become the faces of this story for the left, while Jackson and Nader have--on our side.

I loathe Randal Terry but he is merely showboating and isn't doing anything like the harm I expected he'd do. The American public are gradually getting more facts about this.

Look at Nat Hentoff in the Village Voice--his is the best piece I've read on this because he isn't a conservative, though he has some conservative views, and his anti-torture and anti-death penalty credentials are impeccable, so he can't be attacked by the left. He lays it out very clearly that this is an execution, of someone who never committed a crime.

A week ago I thought this might hurt the right, but I am getting a sense that over at DU, a lot of those vile grins are being wiped away as the American people, who thought (as I did at first) that this was a "take her off life support" story, instead of it being about starving and dehydrating a sick woman to death for the convenience of her husband, whose motives are questionable at best.

Ah, a transparent self-defense move.

What I'm seeing now from a significant number of posters here, even long time posters, is a dangerous party spirit. Right or wrong be damned, as long as our party doesn't lose power.

Used to be, government corruption was high on the hit list here. These days those who speak against the precious party and the party's annointed are in the most danger.

We're seeing that some may have been talking a good game WRT life issues, but it was mostly to secure more power for the precious party.

These are some of the ugly things I'm reacting to here as of late. Your comments about Randall Terry seem so gutteral, they reveal more about you than you know. I'm sorry to see it, but that's the way it goes.

Okay, why I'm not a fan of Randall Terry. I speak to teens about abortion. I have a unique story. I am a former Now feminist. I've had experiences in an abortion clinic and then outside the same clinic praying for others in Melbourne Florida. Randall Terry and his followers were the big story for a while in Melbourne, Florida,,,he spoke at my church..I witnessed him up close -he was way too extreme and a MAJOR turnoff to me, a new believer.
Part of my story...

If I said "Et tu, Brute" to these lukewarm FReepers who are showing their true faces this week, I've said it a hundred times. :(

"She's had infections, operations, amputations, and terrible indignities."

Amputations? Imposed death by thirst that takes days and days is not an indignity (as well as torture)?

Ah, a transparent self-defense move.

It was a one line reply; perhaps you're problem is you're searching too hard to find something wrong with everything everybody says.

Lighten up, gracie.

violent overthrow of the Government of the United States of America

All they have to do is wait.

With our executive branch and legislative branch AWOL for the last fifty years these liberal activist black-robed gods and the rich elite have it just about ready to make them a present of it.

All they have to do is tie the ribbon.

Now the face that has been presented by the protestors is anything but compassionate. Yelling into bullhorns all hours while people who have raised children, worked hard all their lives, and are now dying, can't even get a good night's sleep.

In the Felos Hospice no one gets a good night's sleep? Where morphine shots are given on a regular basis?

C'mon now...you can think of a bigger and better lie than that.

I never said you need a family connection. It's just that so many people do NOT understand what this means, the facts about this case are pretty lose. And I rightly assume that those who have been there and have seen for themselves, have a distinct story to tell.

I understand the reason for the statement, the problem I have is how he delivered it. It was in very bad taste and not a person I would want speaking on my behalf.

" I think there is some talk about gettin after Greer when this thing ends. That will be sweet justice!"

There are so many questions that need to be answered-under oath.
From reading the court filings, it appeared that MS said " jump " and Judge Greer said " how high ? "
I wonder if Judge Greer, after deciding that MS was to be Terri's legal guardian, ever visited Terri to see how she was doing or double checked on how MS was carrying out his duties as legal guardian ?
I am not sure how Judge Greer would do this, since his eyesight was so poor, as to be considered legally blind, but, these are questions that need answers.

Really I think that Jeb allowing a helpless woman to die is an embarrassment and shameful. To allow a judge to execute a person in your state is shameful. To allow local cops to stop a state agency from fulfilling it's legal duty and obligation when you are the Governor shows a lack of testicle fortitude.

The movement has lost ground. And so has compassionate conservatism.

The "movement" that can stand by and allow an innocent woman to be starved and dehydrated is neither defined by compassionate or conservative.

This feigned pity makes me sick. I wish the FReepers who want to see Terri Schiavo dead would just come right out and say so. Instead, they seem to take their cue from the callers to Rush who start out, "As a longtime Bush supporter and a faithful listener . . . " and then go on to talk about every issue except the one that counts: KILLING AN INNOCENT PERSON FOR NO REASON AT ALL.
