If I said "Et tu, Brute" to these lukewarm FReepers who are showing their true faces this week, I've said it a hundred times. :(
Yes, nothing like a 'real issue' to flush out all of the traitors to true-conservatism. And then there are the Neville Chamberlain types, nicey-nicey at any cost. Those who don't respect life will sell you out in a New York minute. Why wait wait to be stabbed in the back? "Et tu, Brute"
I think many Republicans here are using this tragedy to weaken the spirit of social conservatives. Ultimately, they seek to marginalize social and Christian conservatives so that abortion rights can be embraced, which they believe will ensure nearly absolute political power.
I don't agree with that at all. In fact, I'm in the camp that thinks those who are seeking to divide are carrying the water of democrats, and the longer this goes on, the more likely it is that Hillary will be our next President.
Aside from that, the tactics employed have been thinly-disguised and shallow.
