I think many Republicans here are using this tragedy to weaken the spirit of social conservatives. Ultimately, they seek to marginalize social and Christian conservatives so that abortion rights can be embraced, which they believe will ensure nearly absolute political power.

I don't agree with that at all. In fact, I'm in the camp that thinks those who are seeking to divide are carrying the water of democrats, and the longer this goes on, the more likely it is that Hillary will be our next President.

Aside from that, the tactics employed have been thinly-disguised and shallow.

These are the very same Republicans that undermine and betray almost every 'truly' conservative effort.

I agree with you. The anti-Christian feeling among some of these so-called Republicans is very disturbing. They are particularly hard on Evangelicals and Fundamentalists.

As a traditional prolife Catholic, I am happy to see the conservative wings of the various Christian churches coming together in this tremendous struggle to save Terri Schiavo's life.

I was fearful that the prolife movement was fading away. But the brave men, women, and children outside that killing place, Woodside Hospice, have renewed my hope for the future.

The antilife forces in this country are not going to find it as easy to slip euthanasia legislation in under the radar as they did with abortion.

With abortion, the victims could not speak for themselves.

With euthanasia, the targets of the elite are alive and vocal--the chairbound, the differently abled, the vociferous elderly, etc.

The attempted murder of Terri Schiavo has called forth the "sleeper cells" of the prolife movement.

And this is good.
