MIAMI (AP) - Burger King began offering two new breakfast sandwiches Monday, including one that packs more calories and fat than a Whopper.
The Enormous Omelet Sandwich carries 730 calories and 47 grams of fat and comes with two eggs, sausage, three strips of bacon and two slices of melted American cheese on a bun. It's heftier than a Whopper hamburger, which weighs in at 700 calories and 42 grams of fat.
Officials at Miami-based Burger King Corp. said that healthier choices are also available, but surveys showed customers wanted bigger sandwiches.
"By expanding our indulgent breakfast sandwich menu, Burger King restaurants now offer even more alternatives for our guests who want a convenient and filling breakfast," said Russ Klein, Burger King's chief global marketing officer.
The other new breakfast item, the Western Omelet Croissanwich, is a lighter pick with 320 calories and 17 grams of fat. It has fire-grilled onions, ham and melted American cheese inside a folded egg on a croissant.
The omelet sandwich will stay on the menu at about $2.99, but the Western sandwich is in stores until May 8.
Hey I say if you can eat it - ENJOY IT! I'm on a restricted diet so I can only watch!
Hell, I only eat about 1,000 calories a day. My body would reject this.
just damn ... sounds like good eatin
That would be your meal of the day. You would have to eat very light after that.
life imitates art. remember this, from The Simpsons? . . .
We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger.
So, I go to Burger King regularly. Now that they've increased the size of the breakfast sandwich, I may go there and chow down while tossing the dangerous bun away.
Some of them will give you "extra tomatoes", but some of them don't ~ just an extra piece. I think they should add tomatoes to the side order list.
Deal killer for me, but it looks yummy!
Nothing wrong with that, as long as you are not getting all your calories from your namesake.
Still nothing compared to the Hardees Thickburger packing a walloping 1470 calories.
Mmmmmmmmmm
THick-burger.........
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Most folks don't realize that all that extra blood sugar drifting around drives up your triglyceride count. I dropped mine 300 points in 2 months after I gave up all starch!
Diabetics are well advised to avoid the buns, and non-diabetics ought to think about it.
What's the carb count?
Total carbs--43. (39 carbs in the bun.)
A picture of Michael Moore in shorts? That's enough to cause someone to lose their appetite, and maybe even their most recent meal.
Me too. I'm a diabetic and I don't eat bread and if I do its low carb (about 5 grams per slice). I can't eat white potatoes but can treat myself to sweet potatoes once in a while. NO Pasta either. Only thing I really miss and it really hurts me is PIZZA!
Can't there be something done to stop this?
Sorry....forgot it was lunch time!
They should call it a McHillary
OMG that thing is huge!
