Both Bush Boys come off looking very cowardly in this debacle.

Yup. Too many folks miss one extremely important point in this debate: You don't have to be dying anymore. If you're not dying, the state can help you start-- even if they don't know you wanted it that way or not.

Think that ain't a Pandora's Box?

Indeed. Wait until President Hillary Rodham gets her hands on your medical records and has her minions throughout government determining who has a "quality of life" worth living. Judge Greer is an amateur.

To blame the Bush brothers for this is unconscionable. Instead of pointing the finger of blame where it belongs, these guys turn the gun around and aim it at our side. No wonder we never win on these issues.

Definitely a part of the solution to the Social Security theft problem. One part is to raise the age for eligibility and, if that doesn't work and people are actually able to outlive the lengthened age limit, resort to euthanasia. Either way the objective is achieved - Minimal, if any, benefits are paid.

I refuse to put the "Bush Boys" in a lose lose scenario like the MSM and Left would LOVE us to. The first issue in the Schiavo case is pro-life. Bush and Bro came up on the side of life. The next issue was the role that the Judicial Branch has taken in our democracy, namely, to create policy and ignore the other branches of government. The second issue prevented the "Bush Boys" from riding to this poor woman's rescue. I agree that it is high time the power of the Judiciary be checked, in that the Judicial Branch once again be make a co-equal branch of government, but lets look at reality.

For over 70 years the Left has been successful in convincing America that the Judicial Branch is possesses god like powers and sits above the other branches. That perception must be changed. Just look at the reaction when Congress acted pursuant its enumerated Article III powers in this case. On this very site, this very bastion of Conservatism you had droves crying "foul!" with the crazy notion Congress had overstepped its bounds. Why?? Because it is ingrained that the Judiciary is all powerful or that somehow federalism prevents Congress from telling the Federal Courts what cases it has jurisdiction over. If the "Bush Boys" had acted in contravention of a court order, you can bet that Jeb would be impeached and his brother would become a lame duck in ten seconds flat and congress would be back in Fat Teddy and Plastic Pelosi's hands. Imagine how many more Terri cases there would be then. Like it or not, that is the political reality. . . . for now.

But, congress fired the opening shot in the war on the judiciary, which could very well be the second revolution in this country. Now, we must work hard to change the perception that the Judicial Branch is all powerful and sits above all others. Once that is changed or questioned, and it WILL BE, then there will be no more cases like Terri's.

Put the blame where it belongs--the MSM, and stop eating your own. Do everything within the law that you can to defeat the MSM.

If only Terri Schiavo could somehow be convicted of murder, she would be guaranteed many more years of life with free food, lodging, medical care and legal representation.

Justice used to be blind. Now it is dead.

The Governor has the power to act. Only the Legislature has the power to take him to task for acting and only then after the fact.

If they want to talk about quality of life there are druggies and criminals that I would consider not having quality of life. What if some elitist thought people under a certain income didn't have quality to their life.

Yes, the normal, predictable "war of words" is pointless here because the Red Queen controls the dictionary and new words can be created at will and the meaning of all words can be completely changed on a whim. We have crossed the threshold to a new level of Orwellian "Newspeak" that will make the sane weep.
Any kind of war involving actions is also pointless because, under the "Newspeak" control of the language, any such act is defined as "criminal, aggressive, terroristic" and so we are in a box here. Perhaps, it is the final realization of the New Testament warning that we "battle not against flesh and blood, but evil spirits in high places". Persuasive words and well-aimed guns are worthless here and so believers need to seek and acquire other tools for a different type of warfare.
As I suspect many others did, I held out the hope that one of the Bushes would take the bold act of defiance which would not only save this poor woman's life, but also steer my beloved America away from this cliff. It was not to be. Instead we imported the expanded culture of death from the old, corrupt Europe and did so with with 24 hour news coverage. But, take heart, my FRiends, evil only seems to win.

Logan's Run is a 1976 movie.

Just 30 years ahead of its time.

Shalom.

Already, the elderly soak up a staggering amount of national resources, as the blessings of technology allow them to live longer

Eventually, the high cost of medical care will bring this about. There will come a time that people past a certain age will not get revived when they crash.
