After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
I understand that. I voted for Michael Peroutka, and I am content with that vote.
That person has this quote on his home page:
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell
This is why I asked that person if he was SURE...certain...of what he believed...
I NEVER said that Greer didn't work in a state court. Never. I have just stated over and over again, that he is a probate judge, which is a fact. I resent being called a liar! I am not spreading falsehoods and don't appreciate being painted with that brush.
Start dialing the Governor's telephone number but with digit off on the final phone number digit, such as, if it ends with "0", replace it with 7, or 8, or 9, etc. etc. Try alternating the final two digits, too. They might be on a rotary phone system re: their Gov's offices nujbers, and you can short circuit the wait by getting through to SOMEBODY that way. Anybody in the Governor's office should be interrupted and impressed of the public's continued outcry on this issue.
My post #938 gives the link to back up that he is a probate judge. His wife works for the paper that wrote the article.
No, it started before that with the idea of "planned parenthood." Before then, babies 'just happened. Parents simply accepted the children that came into their lives. Contraception was used but known to have lots of failure.
By the '60's, when contraception became more reliable (and baby-boomers became rebellious teenagers), people were told that they didn't just HAVE to accept babies into their families. They could PLAN those that they wanted and prevent those they didn't want. Parenthood became something to be chosen or not chosen, NOT just something a couple had to expect. For better or worse, richer or poorer was a vow adult couples made to each other, NOT to their children.
Abortion came later, after "planning parenthood" was fully ingrained into our culture, especially into our churches. Did you know that most churches opposed contraception until the last half of the 20th century?
Unconditional love was replaced with "every child a wanted child." Well, now that applies to people in general. "Every person a wanted person" or 'terminate' them.

I am not sure if the socialist Bertrand Russell's quote is even true. Wise people will have doubts, but they will channel their wisdom into doing right no matter what the cost. Their doubts will be over how to accomplish a goal, not the goal itself.
It's ok..you are right, he is a specialist in probate...but he has all the power of a state judge...so when he injuncts, it's bigger than at the county level.
You're not absolutely not a liar.
For some of us, the implication was that he was more limited in authority by that title than the State of Florida actually limits him.
Being a circuit judge at the state level is a fairly powerful position in state law courts, even if what he does isn't judge criminal cases, but probate cases.
Yes, except for poor Terri, who is very much wanted and loved by her real family. I hate it when liberals call this a "family feud."
I went to the Constitution Party's website, I don't see anything there about Terri Schiavo or any indication that they would do differently than Pres. Bush. I also went to the site of the Constitution Party of PA, my home state, and there's nothing there either. Before I leave the Republican Party for a third party, I need convincing that they are better than where I am now.

tuckrdout, this is a one sided thread. Best you don't waste your time.
Profiles in Courage
by John F. Kennedy
Book Description
"This is a book about that most admirable of human virtues-- courage. 'Grace under pressure,' Ernest Hemingway defined it. And these are the stories of the pressures experienced by eight United States Senators and the grace with which they endured them." -- John F. Kennedy
During 1954-1955, John F. Kennedy, then a U.S. Senator, chose eight of his historical colleagues to profile for their acts of astounding integrity in the face of overwhelming opposition. These heroes include John Quincy Adams, Daniel Webster, Thomas Hart Benton, and Robert A. Taft. Awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1957, Profiles in Courage -- now reissued in this handsome hardcover edition, featuring a new introduction by Caroline Kennedy, as well as Robert Kennedy's foreword written for the memorial edition of the volume in 1964 -- resounds with timeless lessons on the most cherished of virtues and is a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit. It is as Robert Kennedy states in the foreword, "not just stories of the past but a hook of hope and confidence for the future. What happens to the country, to the world, depends on what we do with what others have left us."
The Constitution Party website is never kept current. The website is totally useless; this party is extremely small.
Hey, read this:

How is the weather? I hate those storms there.
Michael is and has not been a member of Terri Schindler's family for a LONG time!
I understand where you're coming from, but can't agree with that. Apologizing to the Waffen SS would be in effect saying that their evil was right. It was evil then, it's evil now. Nope, no apology to them.
I wouldn't be surprised if the JFK Foundation did not award its next "Profiles in Courage" award to a "Republican" -- George W. Greer! They gave the award one year to former Republican Governor David Beasley, who led the move to ban the hated Confederate flag in SC, then paid for his action by losing the governorship and thereafter a senatorial nomination as well.
Looks like the storm has passed.
Your GUESS, Jeb? Your GUESS?
This comment has *really* ticked me off.
Terri's DYING and YOU, Jeb are GUESSING???? Unreal.
