This morning two of the main leaders of Terri's fight were arrested. We have been at the Hospice since early Thursday morning.
We helped bail out strangers that made the personal decision to face jail because of the unjust laws and judicial decisions in this case.
We are sitting in our hotel room and just saw two of the leaders get taken to jail. It was the first time I've cried since I've been here.
The people at the vigil are various individuals and groups of caring people from all over America trying to work together to make a difference. You don't see the big names here, just the little people. They could use the support from others that are so affected by Terri and her family's suffering.
I don't even know all the main groups involved, but I did have the opportunity to meet these two pastors that were arrested today. I don't even have the name of one of the pastors. One was Chet Gallagher of OperationSaveAmerica -- www.operationsaveamerica.org
Last night before we left, we got to shake Mr. Schindler's hand. Afterwards my husband said it was more of an honor to shake Mr.Schindler's hand than it would have been to shake Pres. Bush or Gov. Bush's hand.
Do you think that if she doesn't perform a particular ritual her soul will be damned to hell? Do you think God is that cruel?
The Bible does not threaten hell for such a thing. God will welcome Terri when her time comes. :-)
If the Florida state enforcement is actively causing a woman to be starved to death then I'd support the Marines giving them option of standing down or meeting their maker.
Lots of people who go to church regularly do not have a "religious advisor".
You are on solid ground. I can point out history. Some fatally wounded crusaders were so desperate to recieve Holy Communion before death they put blades of grass in their mouths. To justify the law by preaching is to deny people the right to 'free exercize of religion'. FReegards....
Terri Schiavo received Last Rites just prior to her feeding tube being removed.
Thanks. That answered my question.
LOL.
The reasoning, such as it was, was that Coulter should have told her friend, Drudge, to make more of an issue of certain Shiavo related headlines in order to persuade more people to support her cause.
No. Not even close.
Yes, this is America, and I'm sure you can see I wasn't trying to force anyone to change his belief system. Just exercising my right to point something out.
When I was a kid the "religious adviser" was called the Preacher.
Going to a church with out a Preacher or Minister or Priest or Rabbi must be quite an experience.
Yes, she did perform her Easter duty when two drops of consecrated wine were placed in her last feeding tube. It should be fun to watch the others figure out what we're talking about.
From Ash Wednesday to Trinity Sunday (the week after Pentecost).
My sentiments exactly. A big moment has slipped by and proven them not up the task.
"Yes, this is America, and I'm sure you can see I wasn't trying to force anyone to change his belief system. Just exercising my right to point something out."
Right, and I'm exercizing my right to speak as well. I don't tell a Jew "Sure you can eat pork and go to heavan," if he visits my home. Why? I respect his religious beliefs. If the courts force pork down his feeding tube, you know what the outrcy would be and should be. The law would be wrong.
Hey, I was close. I'm sure Sister Mary Theodore would not believe that I would remember that much this many years later.
That's not what I thought you meant by a religious advisor. Of course, when I go to church their is a Priest - don't be ridiculous. But I have never had to seek him out on a personal one-on-one basis for advice or counseling. That, in my opinion, is a religious advisor, as opposed to just a parish priest.
Hope it wasn't eternalvigilance.
