After Defeats Schiavo Parents Tell Supporters Go Home
AP - Yahoo ^ | March 26, 2005 | Jane Sutton

Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.

"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.

It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

ROFLOL! You're a funny boy, Jon.......but you're really good at whining too.......and VERY creative with the facts..... you know that?
I should have taken my own advice from a couple of days ago. It's much wiser to ignore irrational posters rather than trying to discuss things with them.

Good bye, Jon.

Discuss things? Since when do "Good" Germans like you discuss things? I mean whatever the "Law" or the “State” tells you to do you obey, like all "Good" Germans do. Sure you may say that what there are doing to Terri is wrong or should not happen. However after you say that the word "BUT" comes into play. An after the word "BUT", like a “Good” German the words “LAW” and “MUST” “OBEY” soon follow. If someone like me hits a small, small nerve of a conscience or figures you out you try to marginalize them.

MS has finally allowed Terri to receive Communion.

Good for Terry. Still it does not refute what I said before. The Act of denying or trying to deny Terri Holy Communion is Satanic. Out of compassion the "State" who is now legally running the Show could have given Terri enough water to allow her to take the Blessed Hoist. I mean they are "Killing" out of compassion, right? Why not give Terri enough water so that she could swallow the Blessed Hoist. After all, they have “Won”, Terri will die soon. No, the Devil, using the “State” wants her dead & a cruel death for some supernatural reason. Satan IMHO allowed this to happen (remember only one drop of Jesus Precious Blood) as not to draw too much attention (God, IMHO allows Satan this power at this point in history because of Man’s free will & shaping or aligning events that will happen in the End of Days. Also, think of the Book of Job). So, Lucifer made his point (rebel against God by denying, at least for a while, a Child of God, Terri Holy Communion on Easter). Most people will accept (rationalize) this “compassionate” act by the “State”. To do otherwise, would make the sheeple wonder what’s really going on & the sheeple don’t want to do that. So, thus the Sheeple are kept in the dark, get back to watching Desperate Housewives and this suits Satan’s plans for now. Also, I bet you that they told the Priest only a Drop and that’s it. Well, the One Drop of Jesus Precious Blood that Terri received today could fill all the Oceans in all the Universes of God’s creation.

I'm sorry Jon, but you have crossed the line of decency.

I was teasing you, but you have made an accusation that I will not let stand.

This is abuse.

Why not give Terri enough water so that she could swallow the [portion of a communion wafer].

Probably because of a medical judgment that she would choke if they did. After all, they didn't have the feeding tube in her all those years just for fun now did they?

Responding to the second part of your post, do you have actual proof that Terri had any eating disorder, or is it just hearsay?

We probably don't agree on much, but here we do. I think all this 'eating disorder' business is just 'new age' nonsense. She was on a very unusual diet that involved (apparently) drinking 12 glasses of ice tea a day and not eating. She didn't realize (and I might not have either) that the effect of that was to leach all the potassium out of her system, eventually causing the cardiac arrest.

It was an unfortunate mistake on her part, but not an "eating disorder."

Question: A lot of people have been calling for Jeb Bush to do more for Teri, to maybe send the National Guard in or something. Can he do that? This wouldn't be illegal? I assumed that if this violated the judge's order, the guardsmen could refuse it. Is there anything else Jeb could do?

I asked if a judge orders someone to commit a crime, is it still a crime?

If the act is pursuant to a lawful order then it is not a crime. Here we have the word of -- oh , say -- the Florida Court of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, the Florida U.S. District Court, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court that the order(s) were entirely lawful.

Of course, the courts didn't pronounce upon their morality, but the orders were also Biblically moral. Matt 7:12.

Even if you were correct, which I dispute, they could have still taken the Blessed Eucharist and broken into small enough pieces for Terri to ingest mixed with small drops of the Precious Blood of Jesus. It might have taken a few caring hours, to do but it could have been done in a compassionate way. I mean that’s why the State is killing Terri, which is out of compassion for her wishes right?

Mrs. Schiavo has received Holy Communion and The Last Rites, before the tube was disconnected.

I realize that the parents claim to be faithful adherents to the RCC, but I haven't heard or read anything about Terri herself prior to her cardiac arrest. Did she attend upon the ceremonies of the RCC? How do we know she was an RCC adherent (other than being raised in the home of her parents who were adherents)? How do we know she wanted the RCC ceremonies?

This becomes relevant because of the (apparently) forthcoming dispute between the parents and the husband over their wanting her remains buried with RCC ceremony in an RCC cemetery and he (apparently) wants her remains cremated and buried in a family plot. Does anyone know anything about her actual religious practice if any?

Do I take it correctly that you assume that the feeding tube was only a pragmatic device to 'speed up' her ingestion of nutrition? I realize many here have claimed (without medical support) that she could have been 'trained' over time to swallow food with enough therapy. But I had not heard until today that the supporters of continued forced feeding believe that if they just took 'a few caring hours,' they could get the food down her throat. What's your support for that view?

Yes it would be illegal. Jeb did the right thing. Only a higher court can overrule a lower court. If a judge acts improperly, he can be removed from office: impeachment for federal judges, the ballot box for local judges.

Jeb did the right thing. It's separation of powers. People calling for executive action in this case are misguided. It's not the American way.

I have none at this time. My concern was Terri receiving Holy Communion. A drop of Jesus Precious Blood did reach Terri Spirit on Easter Sunday & I happy for her.

I am biting my tongue out of respect for your legal right to believe anything you wish. But, friend, all that counts is that she knew Christ as her savior on that day in 1990 before her mind and will were taken from her by the cardiac arrest. We never know when that moment might be for us. But the real lesson we need to take from Terri's truncated life is that once it is gone, it truly is gone.

Her Priest is her witness to her Catholic faith.

What does that mean? Did he say that she had been attending RCC ceremonies before the cardiac arrest? Has this priest said anything publicly about any continuing adherence to the RCC on her part in the years leading up to 1990? Do you have a link to that?

In the forthcoming dispute, that would seem to be a factor to be considered. Generally, it is true that the ceremonies and remembrances of funerals and burials are for the living, not for the dead. The dead, after all, are gone. On the other hand, we do like to fulfill the wishes of the dead, if we can. Do you have any evidence of her continued adherence to the RCC in the years leading up to 1990?
