Probably because of a medical judgment that she would choke if they did. After all, they didn't have the feeding tube in her all those years just for fun now did they?


Even if you were correct, which I dispute, they could have still taken the Blessed Eucharist and broken into small enough pieces for Terri to ingest mixed with small drops of the Precious Blood of Jesus. It might have taken a few caring hours, to do but it could have been done in a compassionate way. I mean that’s why the State is killing Terri, which is out of compassion for her wishes right?

Do I take it correctly that you assume that the feeding tube was only a pragmatic device to 'speed up' her ingestion of nutrition? I realize many here have claimed (without medical support) that she could have been 'trained' over time to swallow food with enough therapy. But I had not heard until today that the supporters of continued forced feeding believe that if they just took 'a few caring hours,' they could get the food down her throat. What's your support for that view?
