Mrs. Schiavo has received Holy Communion and The Last Rites, before the tube was disconnected.

I realize that the parents claim to be faithful adherents to the RCC, but I haven't heard or read anything about Terri herself prior to her cardiac arrest. Did she attend upon the ceremonies of the RCC? How do we know she was an RCC adherent (other than being raised in the home of her parents who were adherents)? How do we know she wanted the RCC ceremonies?

This becomes relevant because of the (apparently) forthcoming dispute between the parents and the husband over their wanting her remains buried with RCC ceremony in an RCC cemetery and he (apparently) wants her remains cremated and buried in a family plot. Does anyone know anything about her actual religious practice if any?

Her Priest is her witness to her Catholic faith.

Terri IS a practicing Catholic. She was a regular communicant prior to her demise. Catholics don't need outside "legal" advice when it comes to administering the sacraments to other Catholics. It's an act of mercy, so whether or not Michael THINKS she wanted an RC funeral or not is moot. If the community wants to give her a RC funeral, they can, with or without the body, and with or without his consent.

This is just sickening. May Michael Schiavo not know a solitary day of rest. May he never sleep without the image of Terri to haunt him the rest of his days.
