It's a Simple Story....."Christ Is Risen"---(What the Liberals want you to forget)

" He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matt 28:6

It's a Simple Story...yet one filled with the wonder of life...and the wonder of the triumph of Life OVER Death.

It's a Simple Story...of how a Child was born into this world over 2,000 years ago. Of how that Child taught us...and how the powers of the world were made afraid by those teachings. Because the teachings taught us that each of us was a Child of God...that each of us had worth. The teachings gave us a better way to live...and to treat each other.

It's a Simple Story...of how God, thru that Child, gave us a glimpse into the truth of our existence now....and the truth of our Eternal lives.

...and yet, that Simple Story made some so afraid (and perhaps hateful) that they put the Child, now a Man, to death. They tortured Him...and then drove nails thru His flesh...binding Him to a Cross. They denied Him food...and water...making His death even more painful.

But, because of who He was and to fulfill God's promise, after 3 days he conquered death...and lived once more.

True...we have argued over and over about the meaning of His death...and which part had to play out...and which part didn't mean much...but the simple fact remains. And true...many will try and argue that it was all a lie...that nothing really happened.

But it's a fact....He was put to death.....and He conquered death...and lives again.

It's a Simple Story.....He Lives.

May you all have a Blessed Easter.

Al-Maseeh Qam! Haqqan Qam!
He is Risen! Truly Risen!

Mark
Chapter 16
1
1 When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go and anoint him.
2
Very early when the sun had risen, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb.
3
They were saying to one another, "Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?"
4
When they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back; it was very large.
5
On entering the tomb they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe, and they were utterly amazed.
6
He said to them, "Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.
7
But go and tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you.'"
8
Then they went out and fled from the tomb, seized with trembling and bewilderment. They said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
9
( 2 When he had risen, early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
10
She went and told his companions who were mourning and weeping.
11
When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
12
After this he appeared in another form to two of them walking along on their way to the country.
13
They returned and told the others; but they did not believe them either.
14
(But) later, as the eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised.
15
He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.

The history channel and several others have been running programs about Jesus and the apostles during the past week, and I've noticed a definite change in how some academics view Jesus. He's now admittedly an historical figure, but as to whether he was the Son of God, that's another matter. They trot out a bakers' dozen of reasons why his body disappeared, and why he was then seen afterward. The fact that he wasn't recognized at once has them somewhat stumped, but that's tied in with eyewitness unreliability. They then announce that if His Body hadn't disappeared, He would've been just another rebel. No message, no religion, no Messiah. End of story.

I find this offensive. Even if His Body hadn't disappeared, His message was real and shook the world to its foundations. It's called Faith. How they can dismiss that, the mind boggles.

Happy Easter and thanks.

I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today.
I know that He is living, no matter what men say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice so clear.
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

He Lives!
