"Why you felt the need to add Jim to this thread is beyond me. "
Because he specifically posted the warning to people about NOT advocating violence, under the threat of suspension, and when you talk about another poster, you need to ping them, so they know about it.
I will continue the fight.
I just want the Chief Executive to save a helpless woman and give her an IV in her arm NOW.
I'm really not asking for much, am I?
I heard him on talk radio discussing this issue in 2003 and 2004.
Now, who am I to believe? Karl Rove, or EternalVigilance?
Decisions, decisions...
Comparing Jeb Bush with Pontius Pilate is just wrong.
No, I'm not sure. Do you know what "yoi, double yoi" is?
Now that I hear your query more clearly......... I think you are suggesting that I should have pinged ChadBoy.
Well, that may be true. But the guy has disappeared after I asked him the same question on four different posts. So....... yoi, double yoi! ;-)
He has divinely referred to so many posters as "hypocrites" in the past hours, that I can only suggest that he may have "as much spine as spider silk waving in the wind."
Time will tell. He's a good guy, but I've been surprised by his name-calling all day long.
We're all way too emotional on this Terri story. I think we should all settle down.............. go feed the cats and dogs. The cats and dogs will eat and drink today, but the innocent girl will not!
Not an expert, but I think it is too late.
Rush, Ann Coutler, the Thomas Law Center and others believe they have the power.
If the Judges can ignore and BREAK the law to condemn her to a gruesome death, the Bushes can break the law to save her life.
I heard Terri's aunt on radio yesterday comment on how he controlled her - her mileage - her money - what she couldn't do w/o his permission. Very very intimidating presence - he used his 6'6' statue to his advantage her nurses (among others) commented on that.
She was planning on leaving him - she told her brother when she got up the nerve she will leave. Yes, when they think they are losing something (whether they want it or not), they freak out more.
Times come in every generation when men are called on to be men; and to stake their entire future, politically and otherwise, on doing the right thing no matter how high the cost.
This is one of those times for everyone.
This is when you find out exactly what people are made of.
I stand corrected. It was indeed Whittemore (a Clinton judge) who declined to do the review.
I think it would be more accurate to say that a subset of Republicans will wash their hands of him. I, for one, will not abandon him over this. He has done more for Terri Schiavo than any other politician, and I will not blame him for the fact that the system failed her.
I totally agree, and share your deep pain at the continuing betrayal.
I don't live by polls.
I can see what's going on as can others.
It is true.
Nothing wrong with praying or pondering. I also, regarding other matters, spend a lot of time e-mailing, writing, and calling politicians, as well as talking to other people. (Never underestimate the power of just speaking up in public situations. Multiplied by millions doing the same thing, it changes minds.) I also call radio and TV stations to complain about their biased reporting (that usually goes over with a thud). In other words, I don't just pray.
I wish I could remember more precisely the C.S. Lewis quote I'm thinking of, but it has something to do with Christians now and then needing to have the humility to accept that they can't do it all and right every wrong -- even the wrong they themselves have done. Not in this world. You have to have the humility to accept that some things are in God's hands.
How does that work? do the Florida residents start such an action to impeach greer.
I can't imagine those in office in Florida doing it but maybe I'm wrong.
Any law that denies a woman a drink of water on her death bed is an immoral, illegal law and not binding. Any court that arrests children trying to bring a dying woman a drink of water is not worth saving, any polical party that allows such a thing to happen is not worth voting for.
Don't abandon your faith in the Bushes to spite her. She was pinged here to help turn it into a war. Don't let it happen.
The Bushes are all Terri has right now. Keep praying for them to do the right thing.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."God bless you.- Philippians 4: 4-7
