WASHINGTON -- By a margin of almost 2-to-1, likely Florida voters feel strongly that Congress and President Bush should have stayed out of the battle over Terri Schiavo's fate, according to a new poll conducted this week for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Florida Times-Union.

No proof. justr the work of her crooked lawyer who first said on Hannity's radio show, that Trei did this on her own and she was the only one present, Now thr story is there were withessesd and we find she baddgered her to try to say I want to live. Again you don't have the slighteast idea of the truth. There have been countless courts and countless judges look at the case and several state asnd local law enforcement agencies look into allegation s and they have been all negative. Need to get facts and not internet blog.
The courts are interpretering ther LAW AS WRITTEN.

It's amazing...you're talking about a populace which year after year has little sympathy for the bill of rights(The National Equirer use to do an informal poll almsot every year and the good ole Bill of Rights got canned over and over again)...If government shouldn't intervene to save someone whose Constitutional Right To Life is being denied, then it has no business interfering in "private" matters like racial discrimination,price fixing,monopolies or virtually any other thing...I'm really tired of people who look at every issue from a political context and not one from right and wrong...If this country thinks it's okay to continue to trample on people's rights in such a callous,thoughtless manner...than I have to conclude that this country ISN'T worth fighting for and maybe it's time to move....
If Pat Buchanan were President,we wouldn't have this tragedy taking place and we wouldn't be in idiotic wars in the Middle East...Thanks for reminding me of why I quit the GOP....
Sounds like what a whole lot of people have been doing on FR the past two weeks. There's been a lot of emotion and very little logic.
It doesn't really MATTER what the polls say - we don't decide morality based on polls. Even if 99% wanted Terri to die, that would still make it wrong.
In 1st century Jerusalem the majority wanted Jesus dead.

That's some of the lousiest reasoning I've ever heard. Are you saying that FReepers should condone the murder of Terri Schiavo because weak-kneed,uncaring bastards the nation over would rather this case just go away? Do you think that "murder" is too strong a word? Well, what else do you call the actions of an adulterous husband who's willing to go through hell and high water to take his debilitated wife's life (by most accounts) AGAINST HER WILL. This is not a Right-to-Die case; this is a right to murder with impunity case.
Citizens of Florida to America: "Let the b***h burn". It's a more accurate headline, if you ask me. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that doing the right thing is rarely if ever the popular thing, people on the whole are lazy, selfish and evil from birth, and pure Democracy is an ugly mob rule. The citizens of Florida are showing us that even today.
What little bit of "Christian love" I had stored up has run out, several days after the last shreds of my faith in this country died. I don't know if God will bless Terri, but I hope he damns Michael.
MikeinIraq, you wish to speak of governmental interference in individual rights cases? Let us speak of a judge telling a mother and father that they cannot take photos or video of their dying daughter. How's that for interference?
I find myself on the opposite side of this equation from you. I have read the transcripts and the rulings, and this judge, Greer, should never have been elected dogcatcher, much less put into a position that would mete out a death sentence on a disabled woman.

Poll Results
Opinion polls, including one that Time magazine issued today, showed that most Americans opposed Congress's intervention in the Schiavo case. Three-quarters of Americans believe Congress's action was wrong and 70 percent maintain President George Bush was wrong to intervene, according to the Time poll.
The poll also showed that 69 percent said they would want a guardian to remove their feeding tube if they were in Schiavo's place. A majority, 53 percent, of those who call themselves born- again Christians or Evangelicals agree with the decision to remove Schiavo's feeding tube.
The telephone survey of 1,010 adults was conducted March 22- 24 and had an overall margin of error of 3 percentage points.
I, for one, have never stated it's a conspiracy. I have stated how disgusted I am that polls are conducted on whether she lives or dies, and how furious I am that the people have chosen Death. THAT I have a problem with.
Nevertheless, I don't support what is right based on what the American say. never have, never will. And I appluad the GOP's actions.
Poll after poll after poll was known before they took action. Please do not mis-represent the facts. The GOP knew it was unpopular and still rose to action.
More so, they did what was the right.

Who cares about the polls? 95% of the people polled are not familiar with the details of this case. Just wait until this whole mess is investigated, exposed, and written up.
