WASHINGTON -- By a margin of almost 2-to-1, likely Florida voters feel strongly that Congress and President Bush should have stayed out of the battle over Terri Schiavo's fate, according to a new poll conducted this week for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Florida Times-Union.

Off to another discussion. Be well, Terry will most likely be dead soon and our country will be one step closer to a culture of death. Human Life will be just a bit cheaper and the left is gleeful. Shame!

Oh, I see how this works. If I dont agree with you, I am uninformed. At least I have looked at both sides and not narrowed my point of view. I started out with the same thinking as you do, but after reading about this case, I came to the conclusion that her parents are not entirely clean in all of this. If you dont like my opinion, I can't really do anything about it. Other than say, that your opinion is taken to heart by me and I highly respect it, but I am not ignorant of this case either. Making Mr. Schiavo the devil incarnate is not helping the discussion at all. The accusations flying around about this man is astounding to me.

I've undergone a conversion, overnight. People who want Terri dead are right! I am pro-murder, now.

I think all people who are inconvenient should be killed, immediately. Not enough money for Social Security? No problem! Round up a few million recipients and snuff 'em! Too many senior citizens driving? Well they can't drive, if all they are, is ashes in the car ashtray, can they?

And we now know that slowly torturing someone to death is the preferred method of execution. The Nazi's had it all wrong! Gassing people quickly is cruel -- but making them slowly waste away from starvation and dehydration is compassionate and loving.

I'm a brand-new convert to this exciting new way of thinking.

Michael said he would use the settlement to buy a home where he and Terri & the Schiavo's would live and she could get the therapy he so wanted for her. But when he got the money he conveniently remembered that Terri really wanted to die of hunger & thirst.

The "government" has been involved in this case from the start. Or don't you think the judiciary is part of the government?

Actually, the judiciary now seems to be the only government.

Oh the horror! A poll - oh noooo! Guess W shouldn't have liberated Iraq, or tried to reform SS either. Oh please, I hope the liberal papers print another poll tomorrow telling the GOP how to act - after all they have our best interests at heart.

see # 89....Push poll or not, there are too many polls all showing the same thing. The public doesn't want Government involved in this. The GOP needs to buy a vowel and get a clue.

NO, sorry for the confusion. Yes I have known for a long time that he is living with another woman and he has kids by her. What I was saying, is just because these two nurses who have decided to go public for their 15 minutes of fame, have made these charges against Mr. Shivavo regardless of affidavits submitted, does not necessarily make them truthful. Sorry about the confusion. :-)

How sad but how true. Imagine anyone assuming or claiming that judges aren't part of the government. Unbelievable.

Your "opinion" is in conflict with the facts. Are you sure you are a Republican? Usually Republicans value the facts and not their opinion or how they "feel". Just checking, and maybe you should also.

Yeah, I guess you're right. It's okay if there is push-poll after push-poll, because making it seem like everyone agrees with your point of view is MUCH more important than finding out true opinions.

And I guess I agree: Government forcing people to be starved and dehydrated to death is something they should be allowed to do with impunity.

Uh-huh, after all, the media push these polls to "help" the GOP find their way, right?

If you want to bolt the party because they acted within their powers to try and help a dying woman, go right ahead. But don't delude yourself into thinking everyone else is walking right behind you, no matter what the polls (or a few other FReepers) say.

700,000 was indeed placed in a trust fund. Go read the court papers. 300,000 was awarded to him personally for loss of companionship. That is a typical reward for a case where the spouse is incompacitated.
